@officerbill Beer-flavored this, and beer-flavored that. It's starting to catch on more and more.

My daughter gave me some beer-flavored Jelly Belly candy as a stocking stuffer. I think they've been around for a while, but I've never had them. Not bad. Tastes accurately like a flat, warm AAL.

I was the Chef in a brewery so I pretty much used beer in everything. And it was great because I would just walk out to the taps and fill a pitcher or two.
    Beer Cheese Sauce for Fries.
Sour beer marinade for pork belly before smoking.
    Wing sauce.
    Ramen broth
    Stout BBQ sauce
    Burger sauces
    Mussels and Frites broth
Schnitzel - sauce deglaze. My favorite and made Spaetzle with our lager.

You could definately. Or more beer. Depends on the recipe. Most dry raw beans require overnight soak anyways in lieu of a 2 hour full boil in short notice.

I had 3 or 4oz of a solid (non-adjunct) RIS to my chili along with some soy sauce and peanut butter to draw out just a bit of umami flavor.

I usually make a big batch of chili right around Oktoberfest season -- just so I can use a favorite Okto-Marzen in the batch -- and always a full bottle.

FWIW -- no soy or peanut butter, but Worcestershire and baking cocoa (among other ingredients) for similar results.

I’m pretty set, I only use beer for my brats. Not very diverse but it does work.
