Seems to be a popular beer on this thread today so I thought I'd join in. Oh what the hell it's popular all the time.

Outdoor lights/decorations are down and the ladders are put away...presumably safe for me to drink this next beer - DFH 120 Minute:

Bottled 7/10/20. Poured at 55°. Malty sweet. Some hop presence, but not much. Phenolic nose and taste. Face flushing warmth from 18% +/- abv. Tastes like cotton candy dissolved in rubbing alcohol. Astringent medicinal aftertaste. Too hot, too soon...

Why is this beer one of my few rated 5 beers? Because in about 4 years this 2020 batch’s alcohol flavor will back off and the beer will hit its stride flavor-wise and be glorious. I always like to drink a “freshie” to keep abreast of the process...onward Science!

More Blue Note Tone Poet reissues. Sam Rivers Contours, one of my top 10 albums of all time.

512 IPA...bitter, hoppy, balanced with the malts. Always excellent.

Thanks, inspired by your list and the discussion kicked off by you and @Justonemore91 . I always liked and respected The General, as well as Pearl Washington and Derrick Coleman. The loss of Hank Gathers was tragic, as were the deaths of Len Bias and Behn Wilson a few years earlier.

Ironically, I'm a lifelong Chicagoan and the Bulls were my favorite team professional team in any sport (Jerseys, Starter Jacket ha ha), until they drafted Jordan. I hate North Carolina because of the 1982 Championship Game, and was without a NBA team until a year later, after the "infamous" 1985 NBA lottery.

I understand. Growing up in Chicago, I liked Northwestern (nearest), and IU because I really loved defense first basketball. That's how I became a Georgetown fan earlier, and I also liked John Chaney's Temple teams over the years. The Big East was my favorite BB conference.

Hated Urbana-Champaign (I went to Illinois Chicago 87-92), but Illinois definitely had solid teams and players over the years, including 1989 and 2005. The 2005 game against Arizona was one of the all time greatest. We can agree on hating Purdue.

Cheers to both of you, assuredly WBAYDN First Ballot Hall of Fame Inductees, and to all of the other great nominees and basketball posts today!

Thank you @SouthernSips. My second time with this beer, which I’m enjoying same as the first time over 3 years ago. It’s a great Citra representation of smell and taste. Orange, mango, melon, and dare I say a touch of spearmint.

    Cheers, Advocates!

I am drinking a Double High Density Hop Charge Mylar Bags from Other Half. Yes, it is over the top with hop aroma, and taste. Congratulations.

ChicagoJ mentioned Ben Wilson. Damn, Benji. That deserves everything. I love you.
