Finished up a run and grocery shopping. Sipping on this thick and creamy stout. Amazing stuff. Cheers!

I heard about Alexi, and I am also saddened. I admit I never really got into Children of Bodom, however, it's not because I wasn't a fan, it was a band that passed me by a bit. It sucks when it takes someone's passing to bring their accomplishments to light, but I will be checking them out now

    Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Bahaus Brew Labs Unfiltered Business: an unfiltered Keller Pils or Zwickel-style beer which is very mild with wheat and honey flavors. Flavor is nice, but body is sort of flat.
    2) Surly Hell Lager: Another delicious unfiltered Zwickel-style beer that has fantastic wheat and lemonflower flavors from the Surly yeast. Fantastic beer on all accounts.
    3) Bell's Two-Hearted Ale: The gold-standard of macro IPAs in our opinion. Has great orange, grapefruit, and peach flavors with a balanced midwest sweetness in the body.
    4) Sierra Nevada's Bigfood IPA (9.6%): An American Barleywine-style ale with maximum dosage of Sierra Nevada orange hops. Drinks like a bitter but candied orange maramalade.
    5) Bell's Third Coast Old Ale (10.2%): Another Barleywine-style ale, but very different. This follows the English Barleywine style with predominantly caramel, nuts, and strudel malt flavors. Sweet and malty

Winners: Surly Hell Lager, Bell's Two Hearted Ale, Bell's Third Coast Old Ale (I know that's a lot for a five beer total)
Hell Lager: Fantastic lemonflower and wheat flavors from the Surly yeast. My favorite style of beer and one of the best
Bell's Two Hearted Ale: Such a classic midwest IPA. The best balance of flavors between hops and malts here.
Bell's Third Coast Old Ale: First try at this one, but deliciously malty. Perfect for a cold winter night.

Have you had any of the winners listed above?
Is Bell's Two-Hearted the best midwest IPA?
Have you had Bell's Third Coast Old Ale and what did you think?

True. My father said he used to go to a fishing spot in Montauk Long Island. There was an Inn. A huge Saint Bernard slept in the doorway you had to step over him. If he growled at you when u did, the owner wouldn’t let you in.
