    Howdy NBW
I’m trying this one from a local brewery called Shovel Town in North Easton,Ma. They are in the heart of a bunch of really good breweries kind of on the south shore of Ma.

Poured from an undated can yielded a cloudy yellow orange color and a quickly dissipating soapy head, slight lacing

Aroma is grassy and slightly citrus. A hint of floral comes through

Taste is overripe peach and orange pulp and rind

Mouthfeel is slightly thin and low carbonated. Sticky and dry at the finish, a hint of bitterness lingers.

Overall it’s a fair representation of the style. Not a bad “ not waiting in line “ beer.

Next up from Crow Peak Brewing in Spearfish, SD
    [IMG]
    11th Hour IPA - 6.5% ABV.

Very old school IPA here. Very pine flavored, and very sticky feeling. Yeah, a great changeup from modern IPAs. I like it a lot.

Pours a clear amber color. 3 finger fluffy white head. Head retention is decent. Really nice lacing on the glass.
The nose has a nice, but mellow pine hop to it. There's a hint of pineapple also, but faint.
Taste - Yeah, lots of sticky pine flavor here. This is a very old school IPA flavor here.
Very sticky feeling. The hops coat, and cling to my throat, and just don't let go. Body is decent.
Solid old school IPA, and a good throwback to what IPAs used to be. I like it.

Be back in a bit for more.

#2, I picked this up yesterday at Transient (Into The Mist, an American Barleywine). I like it, but it falls short a bit, IMHO, which is a shame for what I’d guess is the only beer reviewed today that is aged on chestnut puncheons.

Pours a dark mahogany brown with a tan head and looks great in the glass. The nose has fruity hop aromas, significant caramel and toffee notes, and a subtle nutty barrel note.

The taste has loads of the fruity hop flavors and even greater loads of the carmel and toffee flavors, and there’s a smidge of chestnut flavor, but there’s no - zero - evidence of the barrel.

The mouthfeel is full and substantial, fitting for the style. I want to love this beer, and I like it, but it falls a bit short of the high standard Transient sets for itself.

Dude, after the amazing Transient BA beers you sent my way, I totally understand: when they fall short, it's only because you know how damn high the peaks are, how incredible they are at their best. Their "just OK" beers are still damn good.

Well Hello Late Night New Beer Weekend (NBS-edition)
Well took a break from the craziness, as well as work, to pop this gem from our very own @WunderLlama
Daily Serving (Berliner Weisse Tropical Punch) by Trillium

Pours opaque. Muted gold. Fluffy head splays a robust aroma loudly. Begins with rich overripe cherry. Then pulpy mango and lime mist. Mild hints of pineapple, and papaya pop in a well. Then it slowly takes a left turn toward meaty, liquified dried apricot. Flavor follows, but without the cherry. And the mango definitely bows out and surrenders the spotlight to the apricot notes. In this sense, it goes less "tropical" but it is stellar. The mouthfeel is a tad chewy for style, but it seems to fit for the substantive apricot show.
Overall, it might be stepping away from a few aspects of a Berliner Weisse but this one is soooo tasty.

    Lets get another in.
BBC Sublimated Dreams New Zealand DIPA
Pours a very hazy yellow gold with a 3/4" white foamy head with decent retention leaving some nice spotty lacing.
Aroma is apricot/peach, melon, lemon, white grape, pineapple, grass.
Taste follows with stonefruit, citrus, tropicals, blanc grape. Also some herbal/vegetal aspect.
Feel is so soft, juicy, low bitterness, some green hops, low carbonation. Just incredibly easy to drink.
Folks we are in Treehouse and beyond territory here. An incredibly easy drinking, full flavored, soft on the palate brew. Damn I cant stop drinking this. This is an excellent brew. Intangible Tides was a great TIPA but this is just outstanding. Cheers.[IMG]

My new beer for today is The Boobrie from Amager out of Denmark. Poured from fridge temp. Pours jet black with almost no head. The nose is heavy on the whisky (sweet, more like bourbon), black licorice, and brown sugar. A bit of dark fruit and some burnt toffee. The taste is awesome. A perfect mix of sweet bourbon and black licorice. The dark fruit (cherries, blackberries) are much stronger on the taste than on the nose. Caramel, charred wood, and maybe a touch of soy sauce. Sounds unappealing, but it mingles nicely. Mouthfeel is creamy and thick. Overall this is a wonderful beer and I would definitely buy another.

Pours an effervescent deep straw with tight bubbles that form a small head. Bright. Attractive.

Tart green apple on the nose with lemon/lime notes that follow.

Taste follows aroma. Green apple. Fresh lemon. Lightly tart. Finishes quickly.

    Pleasant light body.

This is a great mixed-fermentation beer. The tartness is gentle and pleasant. Right up my alley. Much enjoyed.

Final new beer of the weekend, and I'm going back to @JayORear 's assault of Ralphius by Free Will. If my partner's most anticipated variants were going to be Salted Caramel and S'mores, mine was hands down Vanilla - so let's get to it!

Of the three I've tried (regular, Salted Caramel, and now Vanilla), this is the least smooth on the palate, with more lively sting and alcohol heat, including on the back end in the throat. It's by no means harsh or unpleasant, but it's a noticeable departure from the incredibly approachable smoothness of the other two.

In terms of sweetness, this is less sweet than regular Ralphius, but sweeter than Salted Caramel, which - albeit incredibly rich - is dominated by salt. It's also roastier right up front, although I have no idea to what that can be attributed.

The vanilla is notable, in particular on the back half, but it's always complementary, and never lets you forget the impressive tones of bourbon and the huge malt base.

Overall, what can I say? This is delicious. I'm not as blown away as I was by Ralphius, but I enjoyed it more than Salted Caramel (fortuitously, my ratings bear that out).

At first, I thought the nose was impressively reminiscent of Bourbon County Vanilla, but not necessarily the flavor - which could very well be simply due to the difference between using vanilla beans and "bourbon vanilla barrels," as Free Will states. Still, with every sip, that delta closes to a smaller amount. It's a damn good beer, and I'm very happy that Jay gave me the chance to try it.

Cheers and good night, New Beer Weekenders!

Didn't intend to join in tonight since I'm actually working to get a head start on this crazy week coming up, but a buddy just dropped off a crowler from a new brewery that opened up near us - Milk Money Brewing. Sooo, curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to crack it.

Milk Money Brewing - Milk Money a milk stout clocking in at 7.5%.

Pours a shiny, completely opaque dark black color. Huge velvety, pillowy chocolate brown colored head forms on the beer, settles in, and then eventually slowly dissolves. Lots of sticky lacing is left behind on the glass as its consumed. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, some light char, and a hint of sweet caramel and toffee. The sweetness comes through lightly on the nose.

Taste has notes of roasted malts, lightly charred with some subtle, sweet smoked notes - a bit reminiscent of a hickory smoked ham with sweet glaze - there are some light piney hops on the back half peeping through and then there is the sweetness that has this caramel/toffee character to it. There is a certain charred ashiness to the flavor on the finish that lingers on the palate. Feel is pretty thick and almost syrupy. Smooth, gentle, but lively carbonation.

Overall its a solid, nice sweet stout. I enjoyed drinking it.

Even More Grasp from Evil Twin Brewing
Says to drink fresh but I have to admit it was in the cellar a little while. Not that it suffered there, this was flat out amazing.
States that hazelnuts are involved and the last one of those I had (Hazel’s Nuts) was hazelnut smoothie. This just had a faint essence of the nut.
I have been practicing my reviews with IPAs recently and had this tonight to end the weekend and it was so good, aroma, appearance, taste- especially taste. And at 17%, it’s the last one of the night.
Cheers all, best wishes for your tomorrow.
