Have a good Tuesday. I slept all night since 8PM and woke up around 530AM. My gf is getting a covid vaccine this morning, and I just got an email authorizing me to have one for working at a gas station. I applied to a few more engineering jobs yesterday, and made a ziprecruiter account. Heard of it on the radio a lot, so it couldn't hurt to try. I haven't eaten anything since 11AM yesterday with leftover boneless wings, so I am definitely going to get some good food this afternoon. I need to work tonight at 10PM again. My weekend is over now.

    Amazing DIPA as usual.

Good day BAs! Another crispy morning, a bit cool but otherwise not bad. Talked to my brother in New Braunfels, TX, Sunday. It was snowing at his place while the sun was blasting through here. But not today for either of us.Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Seems like a slightly over-carbonated average Bavarian/Franconian lager - very drinkable but not worth seeking. Rating 3.74, rDev -3.1%.

    Two Roads Brewing
    Accelerator Doppelbock. 7.2% abv
    Stratford, Connecticut.

Muddy brick red. Hazy. Khaki head. Smells of alcohol. Strong for only 7%. Toffee with brown sugars. Brown bread. Honey. Taste follows with the alcohol esters throughout. Medium bodied. The first sip would knock your hair back but as you continue and I’m 2 cans in it becomes enjoyable although hot for the style.

Finally got to try this beauty. I saw data that said barleywine sales are down, surprising. It’s the wife’s favorite style so we get pretty much all barleywines available

Clear gold. Off white head. What you are seeing is chill haze. Not the most clarity but still I’d consider clean and clear. Smells of moss, vines, wet stone, raw dough. Tastes follows the smell completely with a touch of non descript fruity yeast vibes. Dry yet wet finish. Outstanding.

Found with a best by date of august 2021 so regardless of it being 39 degrees (4 Celsius for the euro BA) I can’t pass this up.

Congratulations to the great people in the State of Alabama, for yet another CFB National Championship. Nick Saban has earned his statue in Tuscaloosa. Happy as a Sox fan for the Hendricks signing, perhaps one more starter, hitter and backup catcher is in the works before Opening Day.

Pulled out a bottle I picked up a few months ago of an excellent beer I pulled out at the start of COVID. This hasn't aged as well, assuming the store kept room + temperature over 2 + years wasn't as forgiving as my cellar, so I am not picking up the remaining stash from the store.

Lake Effect Brewing Fernet Barrel Aged Imperial Milk Stout

Poured 8 oz, capped the rest for later with my Christmas gift bottle stopper. Wish I had this years ago.

That looks tasty, especially the nectarine flavor. I’m clueless but this has to be a recent release from SN? Cheers.

    Beach Haus Brewery
    King Sabro. 8.4% abv
    DIPA. (Sabro and Citra)
    Belmar, NJ

added to database. New to my knowledge. Packaged two months ago and god DAM is this pungent folks. By the brewery that makes my favorite Schwarzbier.

IPA people please explain to me sabro?........not an ipa guy. Was gifted at work. Here goes. Belmar in ocean county. Not belmawr in Camden.

Murky peach in color. Eggshell white head. Smells of pure mango pulp, yellow apple. Pineapple juice. Guava paste. Tastes follows with an onion/ garlic, mango zestyness. Fresh pineapple. As it warms, pink sweet grapefruit and guava syrup. Feel is sticky. Smoothie thick but not chunky. Hides the 8% entirely. More sweet than bitter but you feel the bitterness. Moderate throat burn. PUNGENT. palate eraser here. Tropical. I wouldn’t guess this is a beer. I would guess this is a spiked fruit nectar but it has a heat similar to Serrano peppers?? Interesting. Not my particular style but way to go beach haus. you’ve nailed it. And just like that I caught a buzz. 25% left. If you see this, pick this up. I’d drink again and that means something from me. :grimacing::beers:

Well, in addition to already being locked down, as of Thursday the Province of Ontario will be under a minimum twenty eight day stay at home order. We will only be able to leave home for groceries, medical appointments, exercise and essential work. This is beyond fucked up.

On the plus side, by ordering online directly from the brewery, I was able to save $17 on a 24 pack of my go to Imperial Stout and $24 on a 30 pack of the NEIPA I am currently drinking. So, $41 dollars cheaper than the LCBO and I didn’t have to leave the house. Nice. [IMG]
