Was at my mom's over the weekend and she had Covid back around Thanksgiving (wasn't anything crazy thankfully) but she still has very limited taste and smell a month plus after.

I am a huge fan of Triple Crossing, who really doesn't do a bad style (hops, stouts, funk).

Don't you guys flip this back on us. I'm with @NewmansOwn on this one. Keep telling yourself it's as good.

Tired hands' DDH/TDH versions of their classics (alien church, punge, eviscerated path, oblivex) were the best ipas I had last year and it wasn't particularly close.

I think this is really captures how I feel these days; things are so high quality that the differentiation (and the thrill of newness) starts to be harder in IPAs for me compared to 2-3 years ago.

I also am impressed that this hasn't really happened to all of us, particularly @algebeeric_topology who continues to love these new IPA and yeast permutations as much as ever!

Drain pour... That's some emo shit right? Who fucking pours a $5 can! That's horseshit, I don't believe it.

Oh I saw Mouthful Of Diamonds out front on pallets, so the rerun of collabs is back for the lead up to 7th Anniversary.

PS there is no bad beer, just good beer and better beer... Err maybe I'm too old to drink a "Beast Ice" but that's a far cry from an OH with the wrong notes.

Our anniversary celebration has started! We decided to start off our 7th with letting some of our staff introduce this week's throwback collab beers. #staytuned
for much more as we have 8 beers coming out this week.

Thanks to Greg McCarthy @gtmccarthy our Brooklyn Head of Packaging for starting us off!
    ----
What a thrill to see this beauty back in cans this week. I started at Other Half in packaging around the last time we canned Doug (which is a little over 5 years ago if you're doing the math). Our packaging group today works tirelessly to make sure we package our beer so it's presented in the best possible manner for you all. Crazy to think of how many different beers we've made in that time and the insane ingredients that we've used: candy, cookies, cereal, potato chips, prickly pear, grits, cakes, saffron, tea, and those Wild Thai Bananas.

This beer for me displays what first made me an Other Half fan before I worked here. Mouthful of Diamonds has that perfect aromatic combination from the Galaxy and Nelson hops. The pilsner malt and the wheat provide a nice backbone so the hops can stand on their own. I can almost imagine I'm at Foam's taproom staring out at Lake Champlain instead of the BQE.

    ----

Mouthful of Diamonds (8.0%) Our friends from Vermont teamed up with us again for a delicious re-brew of our beer containing Pilsner malt, wheat and oats. We then hopped it aggressively with Galaxy and our hand selected Nelson Sauvin. Similar to the first time, Foam provided the labels for this awesome beer. Cheers to our pals at Foam for bringing this beer back with us for our 7th Anniversary! $20 per 4 pack.

Link in profile to order. It will be posted on curbside at 10am tomorrow, for pick up after 12.

I tried to warn you buddy!

Gah, I was going to offer to help dispose of any extras

I guess I've mostly enjoyed watching the process/evolution and it probably has something to do with growing up on Sunny D!

With all the baby stuff I have no room for the beer I will inevitably be purchasing over the next two weeks. Real talk here - can I leave beer outside in a coleman cooler in what is now mid-winter? My highly refined physics says yes because coolers are insulated and therefore warmer than outside temp (no ice, duh), plus alcohol freezes at lower temps?

For the record I'm not suggesting putting *never drain pour* OH in a cooler, just the non-OH stuff so I have room for OH in the fridge. Apologies to anyone I've hurt with this talk.

Temperature really doesn't affect beer too much. Sunlight does though if in a clearer bottle. Leave it outside as long as you want currently. Though I'm sure fruit-smooth-lactose beers don't like 100 degree heat.

yes, in shortish (days/a few weeks) time periods. deterioration is probably not noticeable
its the 90+ degrees in the car that ratchets things up.
Fruited beers have much higher risk of course

Buy less.. more coming down the pipe!!!

Disagree, go all in on the one you want like it's going to sell out... then deal with whatever the future brings!

Yeah, I think we exaggerate the sensitivity of these beers a little bit. Plus maybe you'll find there's less melon and can report back on that!

Are they planning on releasing these collab beers throughout the week? Not looking forward to making the trip every day

Don’t crucify me but I agree, Triple Crossing is making the best beer in Richmond. To me they’re like Grimm, they may not be pumping out the most sought after hazy IPAs, but I’m rarely disappointed by their IPAs and their stouts are killer.
