I thought you said no politics? Ah, I get it, you think the pandemic is political.

Now just waiting for the 5k KBBS tasting flight and dinner.

Gotta admire Clark's ability to keep pushing the limits on how much people will pay for beer.

Don't think too hard that little thing might pop, but in the context that you decided to drag them into the discussion, most certainly :ok_hand:

I was going to do this but when I woke up this morning I couldn't taste or smell anything, so it seems like it would be kind of a waste.

What the heck, I'm going to go for it anyway.

Given how long it’s been there I’ve considered it but no babysitter on a school night doubt I could find someone for 7 hours

$2,500 + min 15% gratuity. So about $375 a person (at 8) for 5 approx 3oz Assassin samples, a five course meal, and a beer flight in rural Iowa in January. It was cringeworthy before you throw a pandemic on top of it.

Yeah, this actually makes secondary look reasonable.

How many of you actually bought on the secondary?

Why should the brewer leave money on the table for the secondary pirates?

And, if he does, why is that a good thing?

Are you... asking why the purveyor of an establishment should not price their product based on an illegal market?

The 15% discount on merch is the real GOAT here, what a steal!

    Non sequitur.

What is illegal about the brewer pricing it based on what people will pay?

He is NOT engaging in the black market.

That's certainly an interesting take since we have seen explicit efforts from staff to prop up secondary prices in the past...

Pricing on what people will subsequently pay in an illegal market is near enough to "engaging in the market" for me, but if the arms length deniability is enough for you, I won't argue.
If you think there isn't a contrived effort to maintain a loop of hype and secondary price to drive up the prices direct from the brewery, then I wish I had your naivete.

You have an *ahem* interesting understanding of economics of you think he is propping up secondary prices.

You also have an interesting understanding of a free market. A willing seller selling to a willing buyer when neither is forced to buy or sell is close to the very definition.

I'm new (fuck me I know) and am looking for a regular proxy for TG. Is this thread the place to do so? I checked out the trading tab but am not quite sure if thats the only place for that kind of thing and I cant even access it for 30 days. Sorry if this isnt the place to ask.

    1. I will *ahem* assume you are unaware of some the past events that have transpired if you read that as I was using this particular event, or Clark for that matter, as an example.

    2. If you are an economist I hope you put a lot more thought into your professional day than this wheeze of a take. The alcohol industry and the secondary market is really liassez-faire right? No regulations here, and certainly no volatility based on those regs...

Usually condescension doesn’t go quite so hand in hand with stupidity.

Welcome to BA. The thread for proxy requests is https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/proxy-trustee-requests.80/ If you cannot see it, it's likely you need to wait the 30 days.
