Good day and hoppy new week all,

This weekend eventually wasn’t as bad as I had thought. Sure I was stuck with the in-laws in a lost French village and it snowed quite a bit but I’m always happy to come home.

There’s no place like home as they say.

    Leffe Tripel, cheers!

Chimay now since the crew is either still sleeping or just plain slacking...

Have a good Monday. I fell asleep for 6 hours last night after a rifftrax movie called The Room which was pretty hilarious for a shitty movie. Now I know where all the memes come from. I woke up at 1230AM and my GF had ordered a Carla's pizza at 8PM and it was amazing after I warmed it up. Would buy again. I ate half the meat lovers pizza and mozz sticks. My colon will make me pay for it later, but I feel fine now :joy: I fell asleep again until around 630 and got out of bed at 730. There was a random alarm I never changed from AM to PM for my later shift days

    Always amazing

Good day BAs! Thanks, @Shanex , for starting today's thread. I slept in due to pre-bedtime chili reflux - it's a bitch! @superspak, a couple more Headhunters will help your colon forget!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

To my taste, another example of a brew ruined by bad smoking technique/wood selection - rating 3.36, rDev -11.6%. I think I'll go pop a Schlenkerla Marzen and cleanse my palate.

Good morning, BAs! Have the day off for the MLK observance, so going to crack open a few. There is something about morning beers...when you’re hungry and thirsty. They just taste better, especially ipas. Maybe it’s a metabolic thing? Hops and alcohol absorb better on a clean palate? Or maybe I’m just imagining it.

Anyway, starting today with the end of my Ghost in the Machine trilogy, provided by @SouthernSips . Loved the base beer. Loved the ddh. Hoping this big brother version is just as good!

    (#2646: Saturday, January 18th, 2020)
    - @Shanex called for 15 pages, and the thread ended up hitting 20 pages...then finished at 19 after some deleted posts (womp womp)
    - the consensus was the Pack would beat SF and end up playing the Chiefs in Superbowl 54. Huh, sounds familiar...
    - @BeerVikingSailor debuted Emma on the wbaydn thread.
    - @JamFuel got very drunk and tried to argue that Crosby was a better player than McDavid.
    - @SierraNevallagash posted a mysterious blood-red Lagunitas blind beer, which @TheGent somehow guessed correctly.

I used to do this all the time. Not sure why as I'm usually sound asleep after page 3 anyway.

I used to do it too. Same problem as you though. I’m passed out by page 10, and we just don’t have the LNBA banter to make it anymore. Unless @joe1510 shows up again (looks like his account is completely gone now).

Unusual for me, to have two morning beers these days, but with the day off, and just reading for the next course prep, why not?
I'll put my O))) face on for now. A really nice Stout. Cheers! And another one for the man...

And what better way to follow up an 11% tipa, than with a 0% coffee stout :no_mouth:

I like this though. Way more than I thought I would.

Good lord, that was a year ago? Talk about perspective! That's so cool, thanks for that!

I still can't believe he guessed what beer that was.

Blind beer from @JBowenGeorgia . Thanks John!

L - 1-finger bright white head sticks around, leaving consistent lacing. Body is a translucent medium orange.
S - orange, spicy hops, flowery hops, licorice?
T - lots of citrus, with earthy/spicy/flowery hops in the middle. Finishes slightly sour, with some chalkiness. Moderate-low bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - guessing a fruited pale ale, with perhaps clementine or blood orange? If this citrus taste is all from hops I’ll be surprised and impressed.

MLK day off like many, but the gravitational pull of work demands from my Asia-based counterparts is sucking me into responding to their emails. I just need to turn that crap off and finish watching this replay of Mecum Kissimmee on Saturday. A 1967 Shelby 427 Cobra just went across the line and gaveled for $1.25 Million. A bargain as far as the commentators are concerned since it was expected to reach $1.5 Million.

Here is picture of the actual car, from the Mecum event page:
