Kegged a Pils, Brewed a Helles on my 20g setup and finished a kettle sour on my Grainfather. Long day!

Bought some freeze dried strawberries from nuts.com to try in this kettle sour. Hoping for minimal vinyl/band aid from the strawberries. Supposedly freeze dried is the way to go.

Report back on the strawberries. I’ve been meaning to try that route in a saison.

    - Brewing the 2nd iteration of a gf American Brown Ale. First one came out great. I'm just removing the chocolate malt because it was a overkill. I should be able to retain some chocolate notes from the other malts.

    - Dry hopping the Nectaron/Citra NEIPA.

    - Moving my CO2 tank outside of the fridge and setting up my new 4 way manifold. Thanks Santa!

Brewing a slightly scaled up version of my Black is Beautiful stout recipe for a club barrel project. Target OG: 1.109.

Side note: Do not recommend doing 20# of grain with BIAB, without a pulley. My arms...

On the other hand, fun to hit a 1.098 preboil.

I’ve been meaning to do this. Are you gonna use grommets, a shank, caulk, or just drill a hole and push the gas line through?

I like the cleaner look of grommets or a shank, but have been procrastinating on figuring out which to get. I also like the ease of just drilling a hole and pushing it through.

I didn't want to mess with drilling and possibly messing up this reliable (and free) fridge. I used some heavy duty adhesive. Also, just ran the line through the lining in the door. Doesn't need to be pretty, just has to work.

100+ batches of beer later, and I'm finally brewing my first lager. Decided on a Pilsner. 95% German pils, 5% carahell. 35-40 IBU with Czech Saaz, and am going to try out Imperial's L17 Harvest, as I've heard good things. Plus I love Augustiner beer. I'm pumped!

My thing for the past few years has been 11-gal split batches, so the other half of this batch is going to get US-05, fermented in the low 60s. It'll be interesting to compare a lager vs an ale fermented at lower temps

Not really brewing per se... but I finished up the keezer cart to finally get this thing raised up and on casters. Next step will be to drill through the back and connect a manifold to free up some more room in the keezer itself.

Also the new adapter arrived for my Lukr faucet

You're running a bag with the basket for your Anvil? I find that to get the efficiency I want, I need to crush my grains pretty fine. Is this why you also use the bag? I get lots of small grain into the boil if I don't.

I do the same thing on a mash and boil. I like to crush really fine for efficiency and I don’t like changing my mill settings when I use my 15 gallon outdoor set up.

I just use the bag because the SS bazooka screen gets clogged with hops and grain proteins if I don’t. I’m still working on efficiency, I feel like if I use 10# or less grain it’s great with recirculating while mashing. If it’s >10# I’m better off not recirculating or mashing long. I haven’t figured it out yet lol

Very nice! I've gotta start a whole new sticker collection on my brand new keezer. It's going to take a lot of various brewery visits to get to this level though

Looks really cool @Yungcoolship! My wife is vehemently anti-sticker, but once we build a garage and my setup moves out there I hope to get a visual record like that going.

I'm currently... waiting. We did a big remodel over the holiday season and I ended up kicking all three kegs. I've got a Mexican hot chocolate stout carbonating, and a NEIPA, a Rye IPA, and another stout (inspired by Phish food ice cream) fermenting. In about a week the NEIPA will be ready to go into the keg and I'll have a bucket freed up to brew a kolsch. I'm gonna have a lot of heavy hitters on deck, gonna need to lighten it up! :grinning:
