Never said these two things were mutually exclusive! It's possible to have fun and make money. That's actually a pretty smart way to approach business.

There seems to be an addiction to "the new" among Th customers (or maybe loyal consumers of all brands in general?) When something is repackaged in a new format, or the same base beer is rebranded over and over again with an ever so slightly different dry hop schedule, it creates "the new". It's derisively called "the hype train" but it's really just excellent marketing and it creates demand that customers buy into over and over again. Don't hate the playa.....

You can always check out the "Gallons & Revenue" docs from MA DoR for such things.

    https://www.mass.gov/lists/dor-alcoholic-beverages-excise-forms-and-reports

In Oct 2020, for example, TH brewed (I think this is brewed, not sold, but I always forget) ~93K gallons of malt beverages, Trillium did ~38K gallons. Some data is missing from some months, but Oct 2019 had trillium doing ~34K gallons.

The “new” Haze cans...second only in sales to Tua jerseys.

Since you brought it up, anyone know why they choose not to brew that beer any more?

Too true. People get so irrationally mad when a business makes smart business decisions to grow and increase revenue. Many people in here would prefer TH stagnate for some unknown reason.

    here is some speculation...
1: At one point I heard that they could no longer get the maple syrup that they used. I really can't imagine that would be a deal breaker

2: It is a pain in the ass to make- I think it shouldn't be harder than some other beers they make.

3: They have basically made it with small variance towards ABV, just under a different name.

4: They don't want to make it to keep the speculation going.

5: Unless it is absolutely stunning (I have never had GM), people will complain that is basically Moment of Clarity or Impermanence (which are both great beers). 5 years is a long time in Craft Beer these days, and my guess is that, while it may have been something special back then, this style of beer has become more commonplace.

If I have to bet, I would say it is a combo of 3-5.

BTW: the first time Impermanence came out, I thought, I bet this is GM and the name was a clever ploy. Part of me still thinks that, but there is only one way to know for sure............

Wasn't there some speculation that Good Morning was brewed with the assistance of someone who was previously with Toppling Goliath?

The current maple beers are all as good, but I would still prefer a non milk stout version (as GM was).

From what I can tell I think Persist doesn't have any lactose.

It doesn't - it is also the single best beer I have had in the time of covid. Would be super interested in cans of whatever the non-BA base is.

Went and scooped some beers for myself and some co-workers today, nothing too exotic but drinking a Beginner's Mind right now. This beer is goddamn good, if perhaps the most opaque bet I've ever had. Everyone always says this, but it's worth repeating that even if the flavor profiles of (some of the) TH beers are pretty samey and not worth chasing the zillion things they put out lately, their mouthfeel is second to none.

I also thought Beginner's Mind was exceptional. Second only to Very Hazy, and maaaybe Very Green in the last mixed case I bought. I wasn't as high on Force of Will.

Would anyone else find it helpful if they better organized the online ordering? If you hit the landing page and there was:

    New Today
    Full cases
    4pks
    Bottles
    Coffee
    Schwag

Its just kind of a mess with so many options. If I’m in the minority, I’ll take my L and gladly go home.

You are at least not alone.

TH posted some teaser video from the Cape on Instagram stories, to whoever it may concern.

In this theoretical layout I'd actually prefer removing the "new today" section and just have the new bottles/4pks/cases marked with a little icon saying "new today" in the corner of the picture, and also make them first in the list of their respective category.

There have been anecdotal reports of seizures caused by excessive browsing of the TH online order page.

I think there’s multiple options to improve the layout and this concept fits the bill. Regardless of what happens though....please please please add canning/bottling dates to the page or description!
