@algebeeric_topology I’m proud of your restraint by not applauding the melon overlords. Having said that, even if this burial collab is a melon atomic bomb, I’m getting this one out of respect. Cheers fellow OH BA’ers.

I’m very excited and extremely honored to be able to announce this beer as part of Other Half’s 2021 #fanfam. I remember the first time I ever visited the OG Taproom. From that first sip of DDH Mylar Bags, I was hooked. I’ve spent many a Saturday afternoon in the taproom at 195 Centre Street and hope that it isn’t too long before we’re all able to return.

I’m also excited that the beer I get to announce not only has a bridge on the label, but is also a collaboration with two of my favorite breweries, Cellarmaker and Trillium. You know whenever Other Half collaborates with either of these two that the result is going to be something special.

There is a reason Other Half have the reputation that they do, and it’s not just for their beer. The New York beer community is an amazing collection of people, and Other Half has played a major role in shaping that community. Beer is about having fun and sharing in an experience together, and boy does Other Half know how to create a memorable experience. If you’ve been to Green City or Pastrytown, or had the opportunity to attend their New Year’s Eve or anniversary parties, you know what I’m talking about.

Congrats Other Half on 7 years!

Thanks to @bridgebeers for helping out. #freakweekhas one more beer to announce tonight for release tomorrow! link in bio to order.

Juice Gymnastics Imperial IPA (8.7%) One of the best collab days with our friends and Cellarmaker and Trillium. A killer day of jokes and smelling hops at Cellarmakers brewery that resulted in this classic DIPA. Really pumped to bring this great to the East Coast. $20 per 4 pack.

    We made it guys.

I'm not sure what is more impressive: getting to write the IG post, or beating @NewmansOwn to posting it to the thread.

I’m very grateful to be chosen to create this image for #FanFam 2021! I always get pumped for Other Half’s Anniversary Collabs especially one with @alvaradostreetbrewery This one was a great one for me because Hops, Pizza and Music is Life! Happy 7th Anniversary Other Half! Special thanks to my homies @beerwithflavor @crack1open and the whole squad at @otherhalfnyc for the opportunity!! Can’t wait to drink with you guys again soon! Salud!

We had to go down to DC to get Mack Ordaya @imbibephotography to promote this one. We could never thank the DC crowd enough for welcoming us in! #freakweek continues with 7 more beers to announce for release Thursday and Friday.

Slice Joint Imperial IPA (8.1%) Any way you slice it this DIPA made with the fine folk at Alvarado St is incredible. We brewed this great beer on a Cali swing several years ago and we stoked to take a shot at it. $20 per 4 pack.

I wasn't going to drink tonight but figured I had to open one of these!

I'm not getting a ton of melon on this one right now. It drinks surprisingly light and has a nice orange flavor. The sabro isn't nearly as dominant (and I'm happy about that!) There's a soft bitterness that's more of a grassy and orange peel flavor

Been staying off BA because I am back on antibiotics for a bit and really hating that my friend just sent me a box of beer that I see every time I go to get something from my fridge

Hmm, I might need to grab this then if its still there next weekend, VG would possibly be my stuck on an island beer, at least that's what I always come back to over SD, because the batches are always so spot on.

Love it! Saw this as I was opening IG and just said no way! @frozyn weak palate is the gift that keeps giving

Because you're a friend, I can help with that! Let me know where to pick up said box.

Say I found someone to split the Freak Week releases with; is it common to ask for money upfront as I buy them? The guy can't pick up until next Friday.

Sorry, I'm new to this. Don't want them backing out and I'm stuck with two cases of beer that will take me forever to get through.

Florida Plates is delicious. Nice hoppy nose with subtle pineapple and peach notes on the palate. The label is cute as well.

Didn't have batch one so I can't compare. I probably wouldn't remember even if I had.

Juice Gymnastics says on the can.. “drink within 21 days of can date”. Hmmmmm...

Also, there’s no date on the can.

Have you tried Juice Gymnastics? How is it?

I picked up four packs of Juice Gymnastics, I Used to Be An Athlete, Slice Joint, and Dads in Plaid a bit ago. No line. Will try two of them tonight - leaning towards Slice and Dads.

Slice Joint was fine, a bit melon heavy to my taste, but nothing horrible. I went with Used to Be an Athlete for my second, b/c I’m such a Burial fan. It poured a bit dark and murky and I was really bummed, but it’s a really good beer. I liked it better than the Slice Joint, but both were good DIPAs.

They just posted the TIPA with Monkish. Looks dark and murky as well.
