    New thread for one of my local spots. Here we are in 2021 and still no 4pks to go. If I were to have a minor rant about RiiP this would be one for me. I don’t mind the Crowlers at all but I still prefer 4pks. Moving on, Ian has been and still brewing some of OC/LA’s finest west coast and hazy IPA’s. Again, I’m stuck in the middle of RiiP and BeachwoodHB. Literally.

    4PKCs would be great, hell I'll even take single 16 or 19 ouncers at this point.

    Some news out of the RiiP camp. They are expanding at their location. They are also going to start canning soon. I guess the expansion is part of the new canning line. So low and behold someone is listening. Looking forward to some RiiP 4pks.

    I remember when Harbor Barber originally moved, I said to Skip and "The Brothers" - here's your chance for expansion and the option to put in a bottling / canning line. They all said no way. Of course that was when Covid came on strong and and "changed life as we know it".

    Cans are baaaack! Dead Poets Society and Dankster Squad first two to come out of their brand new canning line. It’s been too long man. But good things take time.

    Does Riip distribute locally? I need to check them out but I ain’t really trying to go to Huntington Beach.

    Just grabbed a pack each of Dead Poets and Dankster this morning. I'm excited to see what other stuff they decide to can, it's great to see their growth.

    RiiP’s second can drop since getting their new canning machine and space. This month drops are Super Cali and Loose Trucks. Both west coast. Can’t say I’ve had LT’s before. SuperC I’ve had many times. One of my favorites from my local brewery. Both canned this morning. Yes.....Fresh hoppy IPA’s. These are #3 & 4 from the new can drops. All west coast freshness. I’m sure they’ll have some fresh hazy cans soon.

    Gotten all the can releases so far and I'm hoping for this. Or some other styles. My vote would be for Black The Riiper, Jetty Water or one of their stouts, if the next one or two aren't hazies.

    Super Cali is delicious. Just a great classic WC IPA.

    Just sat down to write notes on Super Cali and Loose Trucks. Super Cali mellowed out a bit after a month, still very nice and crisp. Unfortunately, my last can of Loose Trucks oxidized: color darkened and smelled of apple + dark fruit/prune. So that was a big bummer. Beer was great though from what I remember before this one, better than the Super Cali in my estimation.

    Opened my last LT can yesterday and no oxidation. Still had some carbonation on the pour. Taste mellowed a bit. Have a can of Super Cali I’ll open later today. Waiting for some hazy cans from these guys.

    Bitterness on both was perceptibly sharper for a while after they were canned, Super Cali mellowing out actually caused me to rate it higher than I would have.

    I'll probably mention the Loose Trucks next time I drop by. All the rest of the cans were fine so I imagine I just got unlucky. Still want to let them know so their QA can have it in mind, not trying to harass them for free shit or a refund.
