Other Half (2021)

How close is it to an actual Burial-brewed dipa? I too am a big fan of their beers but most of the freaky brews have tasted like any other OH Ipa to me.

We were super excited when Other Half asked us to be a part of the 2021 #fanfam, and even more excited when we found out we were photographing a @monkishbrewing collab. Happy to present What Would Dion Do?, an amazing triple IPA from our favorite West Coast brewery.⁠

We are honored to be part of the #fanfam for a third year. Other Half has been such a big part of our lives over the years. It might sound a bit silly but we made a lot of our friends (both in person and virtually) through this brewery. So many of our favorite times have been on Centre Street. We got engaged with an Other Half can (thank you @otherhalfandrew & @beerwithflavor!) and celebrated our relationship in the old taproom surrounded by the most important people in the world to us. Other Half is more than just fantastic beer; it's fantastic people. We are just lucky to be a small part of it. ⁠

What Would Dion Do? Imperial IPA (10.1%) with Monkish. Once upon a time we were allowed to travel and we went places like NZ to hand select hops to ensure that we can make the best of the best IPAs. On one of these trips a legend was born, his name was Dion. IYKYK. $22 per 4 pack.

 

I am very excited to present #FreakWeek Trickle Down Tekunomics because as you all know I love craft beer and ADORE my Tekus. Once again I am extremely honored to be part of @otherhalfnyc #FanFam. The beer was originally released by @monkishbrewing back in February 2019. While I did not get to try that version, Other Half's version is absolutely delicious. It has a nice pillowy body and clean citrus, peachy flavors. ⁠

I have a total of 115 Tekus and 28 are from Other Half. Their Teku glasses are still some of my favorite ones in my collection. They are colorful and I love finding the small smiling faces hidden on some of them. It's a style of glassware that I enjoy drinking a juicy IPA such as this one. ⁠

Last year's post was followed by an amazing anniversary party and then Pastry Town (my last festival). I was surrounded by so many great people and enjoyed many remarkable beers. While I never took any of those moments for granted, I look forward to being at the next Other Half event with all of you. Until then, I raise my TEKU glass virtually to the entire staff and industry for bringing us ALL TOGETHER during these tough times. ⁠

⁠Trickle Down Tekunomics Imperial IPA (8.8%) with our Torrance Cali besties at Monkish. Conceived of during the teku craze of the late teens. All Hail the might Teku. We love this mix of hops and it's a pleasure to bring this one East! $20 per 4 pack. ⁠

its quite good. Smooth and juicy, low on the bitterness. No hops listed in the description... I want to take a guess but I know what happens if I get it wrong.

The color on Trickle Down Tekunomics doesn't look too good.

Would've loved to see the glass released alongside it.

 

Close to a Burial DIPA, but still has that OH look/flavor. I liked it better than most of the normal OH DIPAs we’ve had recently.

 

It didn’t look as dark in the glass, just looked darker than I thought it would be when I was pouring. I was worried at first, but all was good.

 

Does this guy have a teku room in his house?

 

Are you implying that your house doesn't have a teku room?

 

I took that to mean he has a teku wing and dude needs to step up his teku acquisition game if it's JUST a room.

Nah, that would be @rozzom. What would be the point of having a 1/2 mile long driveway, 5 acres of national park property, and a stout pouring butler if you didn't have you own wing dedicated to beer glassware? Did you guys know that he moved to the suburbs?

 

Hahaha I was about to say who was the guy with the epic crown molding? He must have a good setup for this. Though that was in the Suarez thread so probably mid-14th century steins vs something new money like a teku.

 

how do you all focus on anything with so many threads?
