    Definitely one of the Blue Note Reissues I want to get, even though I have the original Genius of Vol 1 & 2 from Blue Note, I'm a gluten I guess :slight_smile: and this other stuff on it as well, so that is always a plus.

    Thankful, an American IPA from Tree House Brewing. A very refreshing AIPA in the context of a market filled with eye popping hop bombs. With Winter well under way, I think I'm ready to get back to my Stouts.

    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

    Light, golden yellow body; superb carbonation; thick and frothy white head, sticky with patchy clumps of foam; very slight bit of haze to the body. Fine herbal and pine resin aroma, a bit of tropical fruit. Classic west coast flavors; mild, toasted malt base with a tasty, moderate hop bitterness; cracker; light sweetness. Medium body; crisp and tingly on the palate; excellent residual sugar sweetness clinging to the palate; moderately dry overall with a twinge of sweetness to offset things.

    This beer delivers some classic west coast style goods.

    A chance conversation with a small independent used record store owner netted me this 2xLP set.

    The tuneage is very nice, but best yet, it truly is the finest quality record/sleeve Blue Note Re-Issue set I have - truly Near Mint for both.

    And, now I've gone off the deep end and have started scouting out other fine examples of this entire Blue Note series on Discogs. And I thought my beer fanaticism was crazy...:stuck_out_tongue:

    My beer geekdom has been squarely pushed to third in my so called hobbies, as I don't really care much about anything new being released around me. Its all hazy, pastry, or fruit smoothie crap. I mean, I still very much support the good breweries around me, and good imports I like, but I have kind of gotten into a predicable groove with that. I'm tired of the crap above and the bad 80's movie and music references on all the cans. If I have to search the label to make sure this IPA isn't "hazy" with vanilla, raspberries and lactose, I'm just moving on to Saint Arnold Amber or Live Oak Hefe ha.

    Vinyl records, and books on the other hand have taken over :slight_smile:

    BADDA_BING! Going tomorrow and getta 64 oz growler $20? Sounds cheap for #6 IPA on BA list. Meanwhile I be finishing up my Lampshade DIPA. Bell's. Hopslam should be coming soon.
