More Brewing (2021)

Well, I’d like to think that I’m not an idiot. I know how to manipulate apps on an iPhone, and I’ve used the Oznr app before many times. I understand the process of refreshing the app and waiting for the onsale to go live. I have my credit card preloaded, and have made many purchases though Oznr. So as much as I would like to chalk it up to user error or me being a complete imbecile, I don’t think that that’s the case.

I got the alert at 9:57, went to the Villa Park location, kept refreshing, saw that it still wasn’t live as of 10:03 am, saw that it was sold out at Huntley, kept refreshing the Villa Park location, and then had it go from coming soon to sold out without every being presenting with an option to purchase. I’m sure what I else I can say to convince you.

While I got zero notifications from OZNR for the actual beer release, I just got 10 notifications for the release of new More merch. What a great system!

 

I've been going back and forth with them a couple times because they are saying it was not the technologies fault but have screenshots of the time where mine still was Coming Soon and had friends who already bought Henna. Pretty sure they're done responding

 

Anyone actually try the beer yet?

Interesting notation at the bottom of the Henna Coconut Double Rainbow Oznr entry:

Bottles are being filled off limited kegged beer. Due to this packaging nature, all sales are final and no refunds or exchanges will be honored.

 

Would this imply that one should treat this similar to a crowler/growler and consume quickly or are they purging the bottles?

 

Dang, those Delivery Bottles went fast today. Never missed a delivery before, Henna's were gone by 9:01 and Petro was gone at 9:04. They must have had less than a case each. Just a couple each. I had gotten other henna's at 9:15 in the past. Oh, well, save dat money.

 

How much do people normally tip the More delivery person?

 

I'm cheap so I've been doing $5 or $10 added to the initial order.

 

Well that was weird. Got right into Oznr. Hit Buy It Now and not sure what happened. It doesn’t show it under Orders so I’m probably SOL. No email either. Oh well.

 

What was it?

 

Sometimes it takes a minute to show up, but yeah, if not showing up under your orders then you're SOL.

Henna Coconut Double Rainbow

 

I tried a Nettipattam last night, and it was decent, but not great. Sweet, but not too overly sweet. I think the adjuncts were a great combination, but the base beer just seemed a little lacking and weak in flavor and body.

 

Yeah, you hit it. Pretty sweet, but very thin. I wanted more mouthfeel on that one. Decent, but not a repeat buy.

They fucked up by not forcing us to by the Truffles in order to get sought-after barrel aged stouts.

(Full disclosure...I bought the truffles from Half Acre in order to fulfill the accidental requirement to get all the Benthic stuff, and when offered the chance for a refund, said "Fuck it, it's a pandemic, I'll eat some goddamn chocolate truffles." I subsequently loved them, but will never buy a chocolate truffle again, unless forced to by arbitrary rules in order to get another sought-after beer.)
