It is with great honour that I kick off the 2021 thread. Threes has been a 2020 stalwart for many of us, and their flexible shipping / delivery program has given them many new fans over the last year.

    Blurb from site:

Threes Brewing is a Brooklyn-based brewery known for crafting approachable beers that balance simplicity and complexity, with a focus on lagers, hop-forward American ales and mixed culture beers. In addition to selling beer in over 150 bars, restaurants and shops across New York State, Threes Brewing runs a non-traditional tap room and event space in Gowanus, a sister bar and event space in Greenpoint, and a seasonal outpost on Governors Island, in the New York Harbor.

Also a Huntington location not yet mentioned on the site. And it sounds like they have more plans over the coming months so excited to see what happens.

But what subway do I take to get there? (Short answer: all of them) Is there food nearby? Where would I go to get beer after I get a beer there

A real pureboi doesn’t need that sort of spoon feeding.

Disagree. They have their own thread right now on finding the purest pur in NYC.

Had a bottle of the latest Allagash collab the other day (Consider the Opposite). Astoundingly good. On par with any of the Coolships I’ve had. Bought two more bottles.

I had another can of What Might Have Been yesterday - it was my first beer of the night. I think it’s my current favorite beer. I love everything about it - even the low ABV, which is progress for me. I spent a couple of years enamored with ABVs that *had* to be at least 7.0.

Just had my first can of that the other night and was also really really into it. It just struck me a little harder than yclept and vliet which I had around the same time. Something about it makes it very special.

Yeah, I tend to grab it every time it’s in stock.

They also have the Hello, Brooklyn collab with Highland Park again. I snagged some today, b/c it’s just such a nice west coast IPA style beer.

That beer is insanely good. I was so happy they re-brewed it so I could actually get my hands on more than a single can

edit: THAT BEER meaning the HPB collab, sorry

I just had one myself - it tastes a bit different from the first batch, but so, so good. I hope they keep this or brew another West Coast style IPA.

Their Anniversary beer is a foudre fermented version of Yore. Yeah, sure.

Ideally when things are back to normal, the foudre fermented and regular versions of Yore will be rebrewed around the same time, and we can do a meet up and a blind taste test. This will be the pureboi version of the OH lactose challenge we did. @frozyn and @prettygood will have a chance to redeem themselves.

Yep, saw that and immediately threw together an order for a case of lager. Yore is ridiculously good, the standout from the first case I had shipped. Maybe next order I’ll branch out and try an IPA or two, but for now I’ll keep the lagers coming.

Personally, I'd like to see you blind taste those two plus a can of Palatine and Mary.

Threes IPAs are super solid and underrated in my opinion. Good for at least 2/6 4-packs in the case. My last 2 orders I did about a 50/50 split and was 100% content. Each of their IPAs seems unique to me, which is fun as compared to some breweries where they just blend together after awhile. And also don’t sleep on the pale ales. Counter part and here ya go (rotating hop series) are an amazing complement to any lager box. Chronic myopia is a personal favorite IPA of mine out of their portfolio.

Agreed, I love their lagers the most, but their pale ales and IPAs are always solid and reliable. I’ve been really disappointed as of late by some IPAs from other local breweries, but never Threes.

Placed an order yesterday morning. Today, almost exactly 24 hours later, UPS dropped the box on my front porch upstate. Excited to try Undone and took my first shot on one of the saisons too.
