Humble Sea (2021)

I was able to grab a can of each of WitS, PG, FF and S&S. Wasn’t too impressed with their west coast. But their hay is a different story. Hope to try some more in 2021.

 

One of my favorite new brewery finds of 2020. Looking forward to trying more of their stuff in 2021.

Anyone know what they mean when they call a beer “fused west coast ipa”?

 

Humble Sea makes great stouts as well. I’m hoping they keep the stouts coming in 2021.

 

Had a Powerpuff Gulls from these guys. What’s a pillow ipa? It’s a hazy. It’s good, but doesn’t taste pillowy to me.

 

Don't sleep on the WEST COAST ipas from Humble... This one was real good....

LePRAWN James WC IPA, Strata and Simcoe.

 

New S&S variant was also pretty good. Double RIWAKA Socks and Sandals. Riwaka, Citra, Simcoe, Centennial.

 

Never should have canceled my hop box smh I miss it every day.

Pineapple Socks & Sandals (6.6%) Foggy IPA infused with Pineapple and Double Dry Hopped with Citra, Centennial, Simcoe & Chinook

Downward Facing Fog (8.8%) DDH Foggy DIPA double dry hopped with Citra, Riwaka & Vic Secret

The 3 Seas (7.2%) DDH West Coast IPA with Cascade, Centennial, Chinook

Rio Del Gnar (8.3%) DDH Hop Fused West Coast DIPA hop fused and double dry hopped with Nelson, Vic Secret, Wakatu & Rakau

 

I bought Humble Sea for the first time ever as delivery is now free in the Santa Cruz and South Bay (think Silicon Valley) areas. I've had a wide variety of styles already and am happy to have another easily accessible local option.

 

Foggy Bottom Bros is pretty good. Collab with Other Brother brewing (who I’d never heard of).
DDH WCIPA. 8.4% is not detectable.

 

Another good DOUBLE from HS. TGI Foggy. DDH Mosaic, Motueka & Copper. Big juice upfront. Smooth with only a little bite on backend finish from the 8.4%.

@QuakeAttack The first delivery was by HS themselves and was an open box simply placed on the porch next day. My second order came by carrier and took 2-3 days.

I just got my first local delivery from them and it was like this as well, an open shallow cardboard crate placed at my doorstep. I was out when it was delivered and the beer cans were literally visible from the street when I got back. I got everything just fine, but be aware that they don’t provide a delivery window/estimate (only an email once it’s dropped off.)
