3rd Anniversary > 4th Anniversary

I absolutely loved 3rd. Still my favorite Anniversary beer. I had a couple cans that I tried 6 months after the release and it turned into straight Dole Pineapple juice.

 

@crowlcrowlcrowl I'm with you. 3rd anniversary was tops for me too. At the time it was mindblowingly good and I don’t think I’ve been wowed as much as that since.

then again, I was fresh in the game back then and you know how that goes. It’s like kids who see phish in 2019 for the first time and think it’s amazing and then some jaded vet comes along and rants some bullshit about a 30 minute tweezer in 1994 and Ok Boomer gets thrown around, punches fly, tables flipped... all for what?

That’s pretty much how the Juice Gymnastics was for me, except for no piney or fruity bitterness. Just blandness.

I poured out the Juice Gymnastics for the exact same reasons - don’t want to wast the time or calories drinking something that doesn’t even tasted like anything.

I need to go pick up an old favorite OH this weekend to restore my faith!

 

Should we take on Reddit and start buying short dated out the money call options on OHB (a random German space tech company it seems like).

I know @EnthusedAboutBeer is in this camp. I liked 3rd but I think 4th reigned supreme. Now for my Hot Take, at the time I liked Nummy Nug Nug more than 3rd Anny

 

Banana Running Club Chocolate and Almond Covered Banana Oat Cream Imperial Stout (13.8%) with The Veil. Same cacao nibs and banana now with almonds. $14 per bottle.

Didn't they add lactose to 3rd last year? I think it might be better if they don't rebrew 4th, unless you want bananas in it.

Hot Take: the first batch of Nummy Nug Nug was the best beer to be released on an anniversary.

 

Queens is open to delivery for anyone else who lives here (am I the only one??). I will miss the comradery on the line, sharing beers, and watching guys too wasted to function be shipped off in an uber by their friend after puking in the street, or watching Cam drag some other drunk guy back to his spot after trying to cut the entire line, but it's really nice to get BA Bananavsary delivered along with all the other Anniversary Beers (EXCEPT 4TH I GUESS), instead of waking up at 4am and nearly freezing to death.

 

Time for a throwback/to date myself, but I remember bringing home growlers of Nummy several times while it was on tap and I finished my cans. Prob either non DDH Space Diamonds or Broccoli too. Now those growlers are collecting dust in my kitchen ha

I missed the announcement because I was expecting it to open up at 6pm tonight as they mentioned in the IG post earlier this week and now BA banana is sold out. Now I'll just wait and see if they add anything else to the delivery lineup since I don't think those IPAs are selling out anytime soon

They allowing proxies for the weekend release and do we expect anniversary beers to be available in dc?

 

I give OH credit for not going super hype on their anniversary releases. No posts, and if it weren't for this forum (thank you!) I would have missed out on BA Bananaversary.

Though they were also pretty sneaky about it, since everyone who got that bottle had to order about $200 worth of beer given the six 4-pack minimum. With non 4th Anni and single pack limits on 5 and 6, it took a lot of mental gymnastics to convince myself to buy a full case.

I wonder if they'll still release tomorrow A.M. some more bottles.
