There definitely will be BA Bananaversary for curbside. Wondering how quickly it will sell out

Yeah, that's what I figured. I guess milk people who desperately want it for a case and then clean up a little more tomorrow. They only had, what, 300 bottles at the NYC location last year, right? With their curbside pick-up system, they are all but explicitly saying they are allowing proxies. It depends how much they are reserving for tomorrow, but I'd imagine it'll be pretty instant if they announce in advance.

I do expect them to be available at all 4 spots. Snowbirds was available for delivery and went live at all locations, not necessarily all at the same time.

They're doing an amazing job of keeping up the "no one has any idea what's going on" allure of the previous anniversary releases, that's for sure.

In a year like this, it’s more important than ever to express our gratitude to our staff, customers, and online groups / fanbois (ha). I am @otherhalfandrew, I handle the back end systems that guide our business. If the line moved slow last anni, or you see an OH truck broke down, it’s probably my team dealing.

OH was a half-baked idea, but @otherhalfmatt had the drive to open it, @otherhalfsam had a couple recipes, and somehow we made it work.

OH is beyond what we ever expected, almost entirely due to our incredible staff and the fortitude they have to keep the dream alive, especially proven over the past year. I want to acknowledge a couple people that truly make Other Half what it is.

In @otherhalf.flx, Zach @donnie_mats has been here from before day 1 and has moved into an operational role making sure everything is where it’s supposed to be.

@Katethelesser has headed up our FLX brewhouse and put her blood, sweat, and tears into our burgeoning sour and mixed ferm program

At @otherhalfdc, Frank @fgmtheatre has been a constant force over the last 6 months, never afraid to take on a challenge with a smile on his face. And he always brings doughnuts.

Since coming on in DC Josiah @Jeverly2210 has done an amazing job with his work, but on top of that he has brought fun and a good amount of (OH-required) Hip Hop.

At home, Dennis @headierager has been with us on Centre street for almost 5 years, helping with the build out for every location. He is always there with an outrageous story or a helping hand.

Miguel, La Makina, @miguelito78362018 There is nothing he can’t or won’t do. He packages, barbacks, runs the fork lift, sets up home delivery, and so much more.

@Cloudsofflan The Adjunct King of BK. Our head brewer, since he started every part of the brewery has improved. If you ever get to see him at the brewery (or training for his next marathon), say thanks for making some of the best beers around. I always do.

I know I can’t thank every employee here, but these few have constantly showed a dedication to OH. They make this place what it is. Cheers to our 7th!.

And now for the beer... 5th Anniversary.

Hah, ya, I'm a pessimist by nature. May everyone here snag one tomorrow! And let it be available for minutes on end!

I managed to snag a DB Snowbirds 3. I wonder if BA Bananversery will be harder or about the same.

The beginning of Other Half is my favorite part of our story. I can talk endlessly about it. I could talk about how it took 4 years from inception to our first brew in 2014.

About pop-up restaurants in Soho with Andrew and I cooking dinners and serving Sam’s home-brew to hundreds of people a night. I remember how we used to sit with Anthony and Corey at Proletariat and talk about what a brewery should be. I used to bring my homebrew to Bar Great Harry for Mike to try and imagine our own beer on one of his tap lines. I could talk about how along the way Hurricane Sandy washed away everything I owned and Sam let me sleep on his couch with Lewis, covered in dog hair, as I got back on my feet. I could talk about all the friends who showed up for two years and helped us put up drywall, paint ceilings and build our taproom and never asked for anything in return. From day one we’ve found ourselves surrounded by amazing people who believed in what we we're doing.

This little dream of ours has grown into something bigger than a dream. Other Half is the culmination of everyone that has helped build it from day one up to the team that runs it today. The idea of Other Half isn’t even ours anymore. It belongs to everyone that supports us, the craft community that enables our existence and the hard working employees who believe in what we imagine a brewery can be.

I am eternally grateful to be a part of such a unique experience and beyond excited for what the future holds for our community, for Other Half and for beer. Happy 7th Anniversary!

6th Anniversary Imperial IPA (10%) Holy %&$@! Six years!!! What an amazing ride this has been so far. Hopefully this Imperial packed with Citra, Mosaic, and Sabro Incognito, Galaxy, Cashmere, Riwaka and Strata T-90's and Cashmere, Tomahawk and Citra Cryo can live up to the expectations. Thanks for another beautiful year! $22 per 4 pack.

Just had a Intern Backpack, improvement over last night’s Trunk Bait. Wouldn’t call it groundbreaking but fairly creamy, some of that melon/mango/papaya thing going on with a nice bit of bitterness to/through the finish

I reckon it’ll be a picture of a black 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee - with licence plate N01 L0CAL- driving out of NYC towards a sign saying “burbs”, with the caption “gone but not forgotten”.

Anyone planning on getting the two variants of Banana Running Club? I might if I miss out on BA Bananversary (for a second time) so I can get my banana fix, even if it isn't wild Thai banana.

Happy 7th Anniversary to the whole Other Half community! Over the last 7 years we’ve gained so much more than just a growing business, we have had the privilege of becoming part of a big community of funny, crazy and quirky people that share a love of beer. Thank you to everyone that contributes to making Other Half what it is today. Other Half has grown in directions I would have never imagined due to the contributions of so many people and this is what makes it so great, it’s not just my vision, it’s our vision.

I have to give a huge thanks to our staff of hard working, amazing people. This year has been a difficult one and they have risen to the challenge and adapted to circumstances we never expected. I see better times on then horizon where we will be able to all gather in person again and enjoy this incredible community. We can’t wait to show you all that @otherhalfdominopark and @otherhalfdc have to offer and we will continue to push ahead with new hops, malts, innovative ingredients and innovative beers. Let’s make sure beer stays fun!

I thought I would leave you all with some old school photos as a reminder of just how far this crazy brewery has come. These photos are all pre January 31, 2014 during our 17 months of soul crushing frustration as we attempted to navigate opening a brewery in NYC. It was worth it!

7th Anniversary Imperial IPA (10%) Time relentlessly pushes forward just like this IPA is relentlessly hop forward. To celebrate our 7th Anniversary we decided to stuff this beer with some of our favorite hops from the last year. Citra and Citra Cryo, perennial favorites, Motueka and Riwaka from our friends @freestylehops, Cashmere with its crazy fruity pebbles profile and little hit of Ekuanot for its strong tropical fruit character. $22 per 4 pack.

As much as I hate when all of you promote other beer here, I'm going to argue this isn't as bad because I'm not slandering OH beer.

Should you find yourself in that situation, grab that Evil Twin maple BA banana stout that's STILL available on their website. It's a fantastic substitute for what should be a fantastic OH stout.

It will be interesting to see how long cans of 7th last. Anniversary ipa always lasts through the line, but there are 4 locations getting cans and there is the ease of online ordering!
