Drinking this DFH Olde School Barleywine from 2017 now. Totally different than the 2012 I just had, much more roasty, robust, bright and fruity, almost acrid and astringent, a hint medicinal. Pours similarly a cloudy dark maroon red-brown with a larger more substantial light khaki colored foam head than the '12 vintage. Smells great, figs and dates upfront, dark dried fruit, raisin, red grapes, plum, dark berry, chocolate, molasses, dark toffee, dark caramel, roasty char, some mild earthy hop, toasty nuttiness. It tastes bright, fresh, almost tart, roasty, a tiny bit medicinal, fruity, malty, notes of dates and dried fig, raisin, red and black grapes, plum, dark berry, toasted nuts, dark caramel, toffee, molasses, chocolate, roasty char, hint of spice, earthy hops, candied sweetness, mild tobacco notes, apple, pretty complex and nice. Personally I think I like the 2012 vintage more right now, pretty interesting, comparing 5 years apart, 9years vs 4years from today. Olde School Barleywine is a damn good beer that can certainly stand up to the test of time. God willing, I will try to save my last 2017 bottle for future years to come, hoping it will fulfill something close to what the 2012 vintage bottle did for me today. Great barleywine from Dogfish Head. Cheers everybody!

Another beer from Wellington Brewery in Guelph, Ontario. It’s 11.9%, Bourbon barrel aged and brewed with coffee and cascara. Outstanding.

Heading into a Spanish language film called Neruda. Song is from the album Neruda, by Canada’s Red Rider. Cheers. [IMG]

Thanks for the shout but I can’t take credit for the review. Total credit to music-enthusiast, Patrick Bateman, on that one

Dankful IPA. Had a Sip of Sunshine, Hippie Chick, and Celebration earlier. On Friday after work I've been connecting with a couple of fellow engineers with Zoom and sharing some beers. Been working out great and a lot of fun.

If you mean two separate circles on a page that don’t touch, I agree.

Just joking, not my thing, but I know they’re loved by many people.

This beer always makes me smile. Too bad it only comes around twice a year or so.
