A Barleywine tasting this weekend! How did I miss this? Oh well, that's the way it goes. And my camera card has decided to quit functioning so no photo this time. Anyway, it's an old brew from Troegs - Nebulous.

Mild tannic flavor and not much else except a bit of ephemeral pear (maybe). Nice lacing. Rating 3.58, rDev -10.9%. If you find any on a half-price shelf, try it. At full price, well, it's your money.

I drink this one a lot but I did a quick review finally. Used 8oz of this can to cook chorizo

Clear gold body. Foam drops to lacey ring. Smells of crackers and dough. Flavors of cracker, clean water, small hop bite that is undescript yellow citrus but not lemony. Noble?? Not hoppy. Feel is zesty. Sharp. Medium carbonation. Clean and Earthy at the same time. Has that distinct flavor you get from the traditional lager as well. I’m 99% sure it’s their yeast. It’s unique

A favorite of mine. Maybe a classic American Pilsner? It does not try to be too german but this is not an AAL to me. I once drank 15 of these in like 4-5 hours at a game of cards and fell asleep on the couch and my brother thought I died because I was so unconscious LOL. So I call that drinkability. This shits on Hamms and PBR so if you can find this then pick this up.

Good morning BAs! A cool 52° sunny/breezy walk with dogs this beautiful day. Chores out of the way, time to enjoy another English style Barley Wine - Sucaba (2018):

Delish! I’ve had this beer several times and it’s one of my favorites for the style. Heading over to the Barleywine thread to (finally) add my two cents there...Cheers and have a great day y’all!

Up and at it early today. Finished last night with a Willettized coffeee stout, starting today with a more generic "Kentucky" coffee stout - KBS.

Figured I deserve this after a 3+ mile traipse through the woods this morning with calm but quite chilling weather.

Have a good Saturday. Another pretty good third shift is over. Not too busy. I didn't drink anything yesterday because I toked up and then talked to my GF on skype for 2 hours, and then fell asleep until before work. I had gyros and Doritos pickle chips for my 1 meal 2 nights ago; and a sub, pulled pork mac, Bacon angus, and Lays pickle tonight. I think I like the Doritos more, but the Lays have more pickle flavor.

Was feeling an instrumental playlist last night, then The Odyssey from StS came on and I listened to all of their albums at least once over tonight. I have barely listened to them for the last 2 years, so I made up for that already haha.

Clear gold color. White head last throughout. Smells of peach and nectarine juices. Tastes of nectarine and alcohol. Crackers. I honestly thought it smelled like nectarines and corn chip farts. There is an organic stink to this one that I’ve gotten used to at this point. The juiciness is unreal and crazy drinkable for the abv. I think this would benefit from a Nelson hopping because this already has some white wine type dryness that is buried. Low carb and if the carb was higher and the abv was lower it would be killer. I still really like this one and scored it high but I feel it would benefit from these changes as well.

    Hey BA's

Chilly 10 degree start to the day here - brrrrr, and snowstorm coming later tonight - Sunday - may have to break out the cross country skiis!

Last Saturday of my dry January - this was partially frozen in my (unheated) sunroom....tastes better as it warms up!

was hoping for a nice sunrise this am, but not many clouds and just light pink against the blue

    “Grapefruit” Pale Ale
    6% ABV

Chill hazed bronze. Off white head. Good lacing for small amount of foam. Smells of caramel malts, non descript fruit punch, sweet grapefruit. Tastes like dry fruity pebbles. White bread. Feel is full bodied. Balanced bitterness. Creamy. I would say fruit punch is the biggest aspect of this I wouldn’t call it grapefruit. A very good pale ale

Getting large early. Long day. 13 hours last two days. Philly Beer. Philly Band.

If you like Nails, all I can say is you’d love these guys. Not for faint of heart. Known for violent shows Just watch the first two minutes of the live video of them playing in philly. I was terrified and excited all at once. I know there’s a handful of metal fans here

When he says move up what y’all scared of? People know

Another cross post with the Barleywine thread. I posted the first picture last night, but for the early birds, the tap room/bottle store down the block had a deal on small crowlers with tasting glasses. I doubled up.
