    3rd blind beer from @Justonemore91 .

    L - 2-finger offwhite head fizzles out quickly, leaving moderate lacing. Body is translucent orange, with maybe a little haze, but clearly not a haze bomb.

    S - amazing nose. Tons of pine to start, then grapefruit, dank, a little floral. Haven’t smelled an ipa like this in awhile.

    T - follows the nose. Pine, grapefruit, crackery malt, a little tropical, a little floral. Has quite a pleasing bite to it. Moderate-high bitterness. Low sweetness. Moderate booziness.

    F - medium-full body with appropriate carb.

    O - I have not had Pliny in awhile, but this reminds me of it, so given our previous conversation I’m guessing this is ddh Pliny.

    This is an incredible ipa. I knew it was in the box though so giving myself no credit for identifying it. @Justonemore91 only 3 beers into this box and you’ve already spoiled me with beer royalty. Karma will even out at a later date!

    2020 is Hindsight

    As far as modern takes on old-school death metal (think: Obituary, Morbid Angel, Deicide), I don't know if anybody is doing it better than Tomb Mold and Blood Incantation. It requires a certain mood, but very little else fills it as well. :slight_smile:

    Have a good Sunday. 2 Days off with plenty of breweries and food with my GF once again. Hopefully the roads clear up with the rain. Snow got a bit crazy so the people were coming in around Midnight to beat the weather so we were swamped for a bit there. I at 2 microwave gyros and a big bag of Chili Cheese Fritos for dinner.

    Sierra Nevada Big Little Thing. Excellent DIPA. Lasting fluffy head/foamy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, light biscuit/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Light increasing warmth of 9% after the finish. Great Crystal, Chinook, Idaho 7, Columbus, Cascade, Mosaic profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops, with a nice clean pale malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Would buy again, very standard west coast, and not the hazy like the Regular little thing. 4.06

    I had forgotten about Barracuda! The now-extinct Northern Virginia freshwater hopfish. It also enjoys various sours and stouts.
