A beer that I used to look forward to a lot, but unfortunately led to some disappointment this year. Really thin bodied, and little fig character to it, but mostly just a cloying sweetness.

Moving onto a Stone Enjoy By Unfiltered IPA, a bit late, but got it at a discount from the Total Wine so I took a chance.

Man, that video encompasses what music is all about. You can tell Hall & Oates are a big influence on CeeLo. Never knew his voice was that good. Really cool. Great song too. But I will say, maybe the biggest takeaway from this is that Daryl’s hair is untouchable haha! Cheers bro.

I did think it was pretty tasty. I just didn’t like that it had sugar in it and knew it would create a mean headache so after about half of it I was done.

Late to the game, after a late night finishing @champ103 recommended Waiting for the End of the World by Madison Smartt Bell. Suffice it to say, any author who quotes both Charles Mingus (quoting Fats Navarro) AND Werner Herzog, two all time greats in their respective fields, is worth reading. The text devoured in less than 30 hours was extremely enjoyable. Will hunt down more of these books, and Champ103 book selections, in the future.

Likely one more Barleywine to close out the festivities, the one I am enjoying now and in the New Beer Sunday #831 and Barley Wine Online Tasting threads.

It's definitely an acquired taste kind of thing ... But when I was there, and you hung out with the locals, you ate and drank whatever was presented so as not to offend. And after awhile, it was ALL good.:heart_eyes:

Cool, glad you enjoyed that one. I have his Haitian trilogy to read at some point. I don't know when I'm going to get to it, as I always have a ton on my TBR list. Its about the Haitian slave revolt in the 1790's. All three are huge historical novels, so it will take some time when I do get to them, but they all sound amazing.

Oh, I missed the Barleywine tasting. I didn't pick any up this weekend :slight_frown: Oh well, I'll be sure to get stuff for the next online tasting...

Accidentally froze this one. Brewdog Triple Hazy NEIPA. Probably wouldn't have been my first choice but it was the freshest most interesting beer I found at my local distributor. Cheers!

Covert Artisan Ales Banana Boat Imperial Pastry Stout, 10.5% ABV. Pours oily black with a slight brown head that dissipated quickly, and left banana residue. Nose is one of the best I've experienced, real strong banana, plus chocolate, peanut butter, coconut, rum, and coffee. Taste follows, again with banana prevailing, quite sweet, very slight coffee bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall world-class.
