Another pretty little Pils. Last beer for me, I think. Switching over to Chinon for the lamb we’re having for dinner.

IPA by Rushing Duck. I’m not a huge fan which is weird because I’m a pretty big fan of the brewery. This really doesn’t have any taste, I do get a bit of the Mosaic, and is fairly dark, so methinks their might be some oxidation going on here.

Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup is another Battle Beers!

    1) Firestone Walker Lager: A crisp and refreshing American version of a German-style Helles lager with nice white malt and biscuit flavors, but with a light citrus sweetness.
    versus
    2) Ballast Point Longfin Lager: Another American-made, German-style Helles with earthy, multigrain flavors and honey. Subtle and quiet.

    3) Odell's Mountain Standard IPA: A unique IPA with flavors of lemon, pineapple, and mango. All the yellow fruit. It's fruity, but not juicy.
    versus
    4) Elysian Space Dust IPA: An imperial west-coast IPA with strong and resinous flavors of grapefruit, berry, caramel, and pine.

    5) Bells Porter: A Midwest porter out of Michigan with strong a malty flavors of robust chocolate, dark leather, and jerky.
    versus
    6) Founders Porter: Another Midwest porter from Michigan. This one has a strong and balanced flavors of chocolate, lactose, and espresso roast. Extremely balanced and flavorful.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

Firestone Walker Lager: This beer doesn't quite qualify as an authentic German Helles, but drinks well for a Zwickel or American wheat beer. Tons of grain malt flavors, with a nice flowery and citrus sweetness.

Mountain Standard IPA: A delicious and fruity/flowery IPA of lemon citrus, pineapple, and mango. Captures the yellow fruits quite well.

Founders Porter: This porter is so balanced and flavorful that it's hard to argue with. Balanced and robust flavors of chocolate, cream, and espresso roast. There's a reason it's listed as the #1 Porter on BeerAdvocate.

Agree/Disagree with the winners? Have you tried these lagers, IPAs, or Porters, and do you have a preference between the them?

Tonight, going with some Terrapin Mexicna Chocolate Moohoo. With the impending snow, the heat of the peppery finish is perfect.
