Hazy orangish brownish. Khaki head. Smells of sharp unidentifiable citrus rind that’s most just a sharp musk. Bergamot. Taste is fresh bread. Green hop tang maybe a bit much for the style. Earth. Dirt. Earl grey. Orange rind essence. Pretty unique. Tiny carb bubbles but prickly. Strong yeast profile. A lot of must. Fairly dry. Frankincense type. I like this but glad I only got one and much better as it warms

Have a good Monday. We and my gf had an amazing dinner last night at a gastropub and then we watched Young Frankenstein. I fell asleep on her shoulder about halfway through so I will have to watch it again. I should have got some energy drinks or something, but I did sleep well last night. Apparently there are school closings today, I had my leftover Rueben for breakfast and it was outstanding.

Aromas and flavors of big lemon, pear, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, light banana/bubblegum/clove, wheat, cracker, white bread, wood, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and yeast spiciness on the finish. Slight wheat tang/tartness. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy wheat and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness; no astringency. Refreshing, minimal warming 6.5%. Spot on style as expected. Big fan. 4.1

It's rare I have one PB stout sitting around let alone two; so, with the impending snowday what better than a side-by-side between D96's Stay Puft and TH's Hold On To Sunshine. TH beer is very earthy, peanut-centric and reminds me of Mast Landing's Gunner's Daughter. D96 has that vanilla/mallow addition and tasted more like a Nutter Butter with nuanced peanut. Cheers!!
