For the Light Beer category (e.g., Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Light,...) would you say that Night Shift Nite Lite is your favorite (i,e., best for your palate) Light Beer?

    Cheers!

Hah! Probably, but it's not the kind of beer that I drink often at all. It actually just comes off as a well made regular AAL.

Yacht from Stillwater Artisanal Ales is the best light lager that I have had.

Heineken 0.0 has more flavour than most if not all of the light beers I have access to.

I find Miller Lite to have the most character and flavor for a light beer. High Life Light is pretty good and a bit sweeter. Coors Light drinks fine on a hot day. If you want a light beer that has minimal flavor but slides down easy like beer flavored water I'd suggest Busch Light.

From the bigger company light beers, PBR and Miller Lite get it done.

I read it as light lagers; Bud Light, etc .

My philosophy with light AALs is that flavor differences are less significant than price and carb/calorie differences. When I want a light beer, I want it to be refreshing, as it usually accompanies warm weather or food. I favor Milwaukee's Best light, but Natural Light is a solid backup.

Miller Lite is my choice of the big 3 mainly based on calories, but also find the corn heavy flavor preferable to Bud Lights rice.

That being said, when I want a cheap adjunct lager, I often go with an ice beer or malt liquor. 12-16oz of Bud Ice with some food gives me a nice starting buzz, then I sit down with a higher abv craft sipper for dessert.

I've never done a side by side but Miller Lite and Best Light are awful similar in their calorie and carb breakdown. I think Miller Lite at one point might have been based on Best Light....either that or Meister Brau Light....

I forgot to mention Saint Archer Gold. While I haven't had it all that often, I liked it.

Sierra Nevada brewed a kolsch a few years ago that was just exactly perfect. Wish they still brewed it.

Miller got the rights to the name "Lite" and also the knowledge of the process used to brew it and, maybe just as important, the beer's sales marketing info when they purchased the brands of the defunct Meister Brau Brewing Co. of Chicago in 1972, but they did tweak the recipe before creating Lite Beer from Miller.

In the mid-60s Miller had purchased the Gettleman Brewing Co., their next door neighbor in Milwaukee (IIRC), which is were they got the original Milwaukee's Best brand, but it was not a light beer.
