Looks interesting but I am sad to see Fresh Cut replaced, as I enjoyed that one:

    ABV 6.5%
Grain: Caramel, Flaked Oats, Honey Malt, Munich, Pale, Pilsner
Hops: Azacca, Citra, El Dorado, Sabro
    Yeast: Hothead Kveik

I like Fresh Cut as well. It's still listed on their site, just not with the Hop Cycle beers. Maybe it'll stick around.

Fresh Cut is the superior beer IMO. This started out ok, but then had a weird almost medicinal aftertaste. This was a one time purchase for me.

As with most Troegs offerings ... I will definitely pick it up if I am able to find it reasonably fresh.

I have yet to drink a really good beer brewed with Kveik yeast

Good to know. Was going to grab a 12er, but will stick to a single.

I just bought a single today. I tried to look it up, but it doesn't seem to be listed on BA. Does it need to be added?

Hope you like it. The six pack has been a chore for me to get through. I never think twice about buying new Troegs beers by the six, but this one just isn’t doing it for me.

10000000% Can’t believe breweries as big as Troegs are putting out beers with Kviek yeast.

It sounds like a recipe for a sweet cereal.

Tired of sweet ipas, period, this one probably can’t help but lean sweet.

Why Tröegs would replace First Cut with this is just mind boggling. I bought it to try, but can’t see this being even close to a bigger seller than First Cut with how the hazy scene is going currently. If I’m picking up a hazy, this is last on my list lol.

It sure reads like plenty of BAs found little/no "joy" in this new beer from Troegs.

It would be interesting to know whether Troegs Brewing used a focus/tasting group of beer consumers to 'test out' this beer prior to releasing it as a replacement for First Cut?

    Cheers!

All these copy cat beers, hazy this, Oak flakes that, OJ bombs for beers.

That Pliny I had yesterday was simply one of the best ipas I’ve ever had, and yes I’ve had Pliny before many times in bottles and on tap. But that one yesterday was remarkable, could be just a super fresh bottle. Why don’t breweries take on Vinny and try to match that style instead of the other stuff they try and pump out? I’d welcome that, I’m tired of the other stuff. Even the beers from Alchemist and Lawson’s, HF don’t have that kind of profile. Not that their not great in their own right, but finding a beer that’s family to Pliny , well I can’t think of one.

Well, a new 'regular' IPA that I am a fan of is the new beer from Sierra Nevada: Dankful IPA. But just like Pliny the Elder this beer is best when very fresh (e.g., 30 days or less from the canning date). At around the two month mark (60 days) there is notable hop aroma fade even when I continuously store Dankful IPA cold. Last fall I was able to find many (5-6) six-packs of these beers fresh and I very much enjoyed them. Within the past month every six-pack of Dankful has been 'old' (over 2 months from canning) so a non-purchase for me.

I wonder if I will ever buy another six-pack of Dankful?

    Cheers!

Haven’t tried the Dankful. I’ll check it out, but the WCIPAs are just so good I just don’t understand why there isn’t more out there.
