Eh? I like Michelob, but it's not one of those brands being promoted by AB-InBev. With as much weight they push advertising Stella, Bud Light, and other gimmicks, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the sales of Michelob are going down that much. It's still nuts to see it's dropped that much. Then again, they slashed most of the Michelob line out of a desire to cut costs. How long will it be before we see Michelob on the chopping block?

I used to drink Beast List in college. $10 a 30 pack. Cant beat that on a college budget, even if it does taste like rat piss.

Do they still make Icehouse? I think that was marketed by Miller's 'Plank Road' name. Same as Southpaw and Red Dog.

My buddy's dad had old, rusty cans of Iron City in a box in the basement. The cans had pictures of the great Steeler teams from the 70s on them I think. No idea why he kept them, as the man has lived in MA his entire life.

And I think AB tried everything under the sun with Michelob. I think I remember a Michelob Dry, like Bud Dry? I'm talking early 90s. And wasn't there a Michelob Dark too?

Don't foget about Carling's Black Label or the "Fire-Brewed" Stroh's.

Remember Stroh's ad-campaign featuring the dog named Alex?

That would be a perfect list of beers that I would avoid at any store I shop.

Miller still sells Red Dog in Fl...see it here in a lot of grocery store beer aisles, they act like its a premium beer! Icehouse is everywhere too down here.

Sir, that is some fine work digging that out. Damn fine work.

And let me commend you on that Lionel Richie bust from the 80s video. Classic. I just called my wife over to look at it. I remember the whole thing. We both nearly shit ourselves laughing.

After all the years of ruthless marketing tactics, including the 3 tier system, it sounds like beer karma to me.

If Icehouse isn't still made, someone in the greater Cincinnati area has quite the stock pile because it's just about everywhere here. Always been leery of something that costs even less than PBR.

Don't forget about the fine Keystone family of beers. Bottled beer taste in can.

if i am at a pizza parlor and have a choice of BMC or Michelob or Mich Light, i actually will take the Michelob light. it isnt entirely tasteless and on a hot florida afternoon working outside, golfing, or after a football practice, i can drink them rather easily.

That's because Keystone beers are canned in 'silicone lined cans' so it' just like being In glass'. Only a lot cheaper. And a lot shittier tasting if my memory of 1991 is accurate.

You can get Red Dog in Wisconsin too. My one friend drinks a ton of it.
