Pretty sure it is (still brewed by AB-InBev). Currently, Red Hook is part of the Craft Brew Alliance, which is partially owned by Ab-InBev. I'm not sure it's quite as simple as that, as it's not entirely clear where the various breweries operating under the CBA umbrella have their beer brewed.

@jesskidden Can you shed some light on this? Any idea where Red Hook beers are made these days? Since the Woodinville facility closed a couple years back, I confess I have no idea where Red Hook is being made.

Nope, totally owned by AB now.
Looks like CBA still operate these facilities (but, of course, if they needed to, RH beers could be brewed at AB or other AB-owned breweries):

FWIW, and I could be wrong, the Seattle location does not package, but is a brewpub. I think all the packaged stuff comes out of NH these days.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too, after they closed Woodinville but those are the addresses they gave to the TTB for label approval, all the labels approved for 2020 all listed all 3 cities. Doesn't mean, of course, that they necessarily package the beers at all 3 and perhaps they just continue to use "Seattle" for promotional reasons. (Not unheard of, pretty sure Stroh's label was still listing "Detroit" long after they closed the brewery in the mid-80s).

Not Widmer Bros. in Portland for the west coast market?

Maybe? It's one of those things I think I read, but may have misinterpreted or misremembered.

The Red Hook Brewlab on Capitol Hill is actually really cool. They only served beers made on site and did tons of collabs with local breweries. Too bad I won’t go there.

I thought Schooner was earlier than then, but I've had a lot of beers since then.

That may have been when they opened the "new" brewery, that had a tasting room. They had brewed at an industrial park or something, and just sold kegs to accounts. I just looked at my review of 3 Grid IPA, which was from '09, and I mentioned that they had been around for a while, but were just starting to see wider distro.

It may be old news but I was saddened to see Bridgeport had closed. I grew up in Oregon and that was one of (if not my first) ipa.
On a brighter note I see Mcmenamins is still going strong. I remember their hammerhead ale from a long ways back.

Yeah, Bridgeport's IPA was in my top 10 of IPAs. I really miss it.

Did you get to try it recently?

Back when I was living in Sacramento, prior to 2001, I thought it was arguably one of the best IPA'S on the West Coast. It was regularly available at our local TJ'S, and I would grab a 6 pack whenever I saw it. It was such a great beer, I freely admit it was one of the things that first got me interested in the NW beer scene. The original pub was always a must visit whenever we came up to PDX.

The wife and I stopped by the current edition of the brewpub one last time before it went belly up. Sigh... Lot of water over the damn since those days in the 90's when I would always stop by for a couple of slices and a glass of their IPA or Blue Heron ale, sitting at indoor picnic tables at the old pub.

Alas, the IPA was no more than a shadow of its former self when we stopped by one last time. It was the same with the pub itself. RIP Bridgeport. You'll be missed, but never, ever forgotten.

And RIP Ebenezer. Back in the day, I got it every winter. I was surprised to see I never rated or reviewed Ebenezer here on BA, but I was drinking beer for many years before I got around to joining this NW BA motley crew.

Wow. Haven't thought of Blue Heron in a long time. I drank a lot of that at the old Viking Tavern in the 00s, back when they and the Elk were the only places around town with craft beer.

When I first moved out here (Sept 2000), Blue Heron quickly became a near constant presence in my fridge, and remained so for several years. BH and Mirror Pond were my daily drinkers.

Oh, aaaarrrhhh! My little avatar photo was from a memorable visit in July 2004 when they have hop vines on wires halfway across the industrial street. Here's a photo from the same evening, sampler menu and free pretzles.

    :cold_sweat:
That whole taster list brings up some emotions.
For example: when amber ales were a staple. And when the top 8 beers from a brewery were a variety of styles.
I don’t think I ever had ‘old knucklehead’ but you know it was probably a good barleywine.
As a consolation prize one of your PNW ba’s is trading me a pack of Hammerhead Ale from McMenamins which another “old”classic.

Grants Scottish was unforgettable from the early 80s. I think I had the draft at Produce Row (?) on a visit to family in Portland. Also Bridgeport cask Stout, Pyramid Pale (Kalama).

If memory serves me (and it often has gaps), my first brewpub visit ever was to Grant's in Yakima. Bert Grant was quite the pioneer.
