I can’t post a picture at the moment, but Alpine is the first that comes to mind for me. Their old label designs were so great, and then Green Flash had to ruin it.

Meh, I always thought Blue Point was the weakest of AB's Super-Premium brands.

That was perplexing. The only upside was that when I saw an upside down label I knew it was fresh. Now I know to avoid it because it's old. Upside-down label: 10/10 Would Not Recommend.

The label art was one of the reasons I used to buy the Sam Adams winter pack. Made it look like colonial winters and pubs were fun. Probably not, but still.

Good thread. Most of these remind me that when I notice the rebranding at the stores, my reaction is almost always to think that the artwork and labels look worse than the originals. DFH 90 min in particular looks nonsensical and grotesque. And not in a good way.

The common theme seems to be that breweries are doing away with multiple colors on their packaging. Maybe an effort to save money on ink cost?
Most new labels have 3 colors max.
    Boring!

I am waiting for a brewer to do plain color in labels. Use your own crayons. Might be a selling point?

It would seem to appeal to same market that all the sweet and flavored malt beverages that crowd the shelves are aimed at.

Anheuser Busch did Bud Light labels that allowed drinkers to write their names - or anything else, I suppose - on them. Apparently you could do it with a key. I guess people don't carry pens anymore?

Weyerbacher could do a collaboration brew with Crayola, both headquartered in the same town! (Hell, they're non-toxic, just put them IN the brew).

I’ve been beating that Sam Adams rebrand drum for a while....absolutely disgraceful

LOL I never noticed this done. Purple Mardi Gras man? Wtf? Lemmie guess: Turbodog has an actual dog on it now.

Yep, Turbodog has that blue dog artwork. Certainly inspired by, if not in collaboration with George Rodrigue. I'm kind of indifferent to the label, but can see why some would not like it. I use to go to the Blue Dog Cafe in Lafayette, LA when work brought me there. Had a bunch of his paintings there and drank a fair share of Turbodog as well, so I guess it at least has something to do with the beer.

Yeah I don't get this. Is this skeleton guy NB's new mascot? Why a skeleton guy? What's that got to do with the branding NB has been pushing forever - bikes, employee-owned, Fort Collins, etc.

Those newest Green Flash labels are horrid, same with Anchor. A lot of labels are getting very cartoony, which is cool if the brewery is partnering with a local artist to design the labels. Otherwise, it's just too much.
