It’s quite amazing how many NA’s you have access to. Last one I had was a sip of a buddy’s Mikkeller in Halifax a year and a half ago.

Thank you sir Saberg - I never tire of this beer, it's just that good - but I know you know this .

More snow on the way I'm hearing - over the weekend, and then on Tuesday snow to ice to rain.

I don't mind the snow so much, but ice can be destructive.

 

Visiting Transient with Little O, this is the first “drinking in the brewery” brewery visit I’ve made since the end of 2019. The beer is When Will Those Clouds All Disappear, a fruited DDH DIPA with vanilla and lactose. It’s an orange dreamsicle for beer nerds.

 

Home early. Had this beauty tucked away for just such an occasion: the most sessionable beer in the world IMHO. #1.

#2, this is Bugs Buckley, an imperial stout featuring vanilla, cinnamon, marshmallow, roasted carrots, black walnuts, Michigan maple syrup and spices.

Nothing going here, move along.

PS: it’s delicious.

 

Old school bitter MF’r, I love it!

 

I was trying hold off until Friday afternoon for this one, but I just lost patience. Doppelbock is the hidden gem of beer. Liquid bread. Why oh why don't more American craft beer breweries make a Doppelbock. Especially when bigger ABV beers seem to be the rage. Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel 7.1% ABV is velvety, bready and satisfying. First time I've had anything from this monastery/brewery. MONKS FRIGGING ROCK!!!!!

 

Mrs. Insomniac has rearranged the furniture and will be doing an online yoga class, so I must temporarily abandon my basement fortress of solitude. I’m not bothered, as I have great confidence in my ability to drink a beer upstairs. Cheers.

I just had a River Horse Roly Poly, a Czech style pilsner. We were at a local restaurant and had some good food with it, too. I had poutine for the 1st time and Wifey had a crab cake sandwich, which is one of her favorite things. The beer was pretty good. Full of lemon, grain, bread and grass aromas and flavors. I wish I could've had a second one.

 

Beer # 2 - because.....why not? It's almost Friday

 

I’m up to 23 na reviews since Jan 1st. They’re everywhere here! My goal is to tick 100 different na’s this year.

 

Oh hell, just read that Chick Corea died this week. I guess its just now being reported. Dude is amazing.
