All yhr love for their recent westies had me excited for the Timberline that I found randomly (we don't usually get anything from them up here) but it was a dud for me. Just kind of bland. Grabbed a can of hazy train too so I'm hoping that will give me a taste of that good fieldwork hops

Man, 0 for 2 for me with my random Fieldwork "score". Hazy Train is just not doing it for me. It strikes me as an overly bitter neipa or an overly thick and sweet westy. Maybe its just my palate today (although a tried a hazy IPA from Ruse brewing earlier that knocked my socks off) but I'm thinking I need to go back and grab some of the Owl Theory cans I saw just to remind myself of how good Fieldwork really is

For me, it was a return to MarionDairy. Could not resist, so bought again, and still not disappointing. Not sure why I like this beer so much, but I think Fieldwork really nailed this one.

Regarding WC IPA's, I am essentially back to basics. That is, Stone IPA. Hop Stoopid, and sometimes from ASB.

Fieldwork has just kinda let me down relative to others when it comes to WC IPA's.

First time buying Fieldwork, got the more than just IPA mixed pack. It looks like they don't date any of their cans?

up until Covid everything sold out so fast they didn't need to, but yeah now you go in there are at least 10 different cans available. Nothing will be old per se, just some stuff won't be within a week.

There was about 15+ different cans available in person at the Sac location 2 weeks ago.

Currently there are 28 different cans to go in 4 packs.....lol... https://fieldworkbrewing.com/sacramento/

I’m sure they and other breweries are canning a lot more these days because of the pandemic. Most restaurants and bars are not open or outdoor only right now. So they need to make $$$$ right now. What better way to can everything and ship, deliver or on site sales.

Do they sell individual cans if you go to a tasting room, or only 4 packs? I thought they used to do it with the online pre-order, but now it's limited to full 4 packs.

I was there this afternoon and you can buy singles and custom four-packs at the taproom! Awesome for those of us that don't want to commit to a four-pack of just one beer...

Picked up the latest batch of regular PULP. Their IG mentioned that this was a new crop of Citra. Still solid. Big juice. Maybe a hint of bitterness on backend/finish. Will try again in a few days for comparison.

I always really enjoy fieldwork's Belgian stuff. They do a great job of making clean, balanced beers that don't come off as caricatures of Belgian Beer

Had this on draft earlier in the week and i picked up plenty of hop burn. LMK if it mellows out a bit in your cans.

Working my way through the Belgian sampler. Through the first 4 (2 yesterday, 2 today) I'm quite impressed. Your description is spot on.

So many times I've tried a Belgian inspired beer which came off as, like you said, a caricature, somewhat like what I would describe as a chalky imitation. I'm sure it's not easy to capture the true essence of a beer actually made in Belgium, so I don't mean that as a knock against other breweries trying to do so.

These Fieldwork beers are not like that at all though, they really give me the impression of drinking a real Belgian beer.

If anyone's looking to break out of the usual IPA doldrums and drink something different for a change then you might want to give these a try. Well done Fieldwork!

I finished off my last can last night; the updated one with the new batch of Citra. I also had a couple glasses at the brewery.

I still love it, and remains a favorite.

New batch of Pulp tasting solid from cans. Also a new DIPA, Nose Art, with Mosaic and Nelson hops. Will report back on that one.

Aroma is definitely the star of the show. Wee bit of hop burn, will revisit in a week. Review link
