Happy New Year! I had a Beer Geek Observation a few days ago to celebrate winning my fantasy league and its drinking fantastic right now. Sad I'm down to my last one now.

Never had BGO, but my regular BL trading partner just gave me one in my last box. Stoked to try it!

Excited to try Adjust for Altitude. Only other biscotti beer I can think of that I've had recently was Brycescotti from Bruery and that beer was pretty damn good. This seems like it'll be less acidic than that one given the lack of coffee, which I'm thankful for.

I also like the idea of them mentioning it'll be a toned down version of their other pastry stouts. Makes it a little easier to justify a purchase (or 2) given my New Years resolution to shed my COVID 15 :grimacing:

Adjust for Altitude is a pretty solid beer. Very nutty on the nose and mouth. At 14% is very drinkable. It has that sweetness at the backend of a pastry stout. I’m glad I picked up a couple early.
I drove by Brewery X(aka Honey Badger brewing) and that place is packed! I didn’t know that their beers were so popular.

Got around to opening an Adjust for Altitude. Definitely a departure from the norm, dry and not too sweet except on the back, but even then its not too sweet relative to other pastry stouts.. Otherwise pretty subtle in terms of nuttiness/barrel. They nailed the bakers chocolate part, its chocolately but not in a sweet Hershey bar kind of way.

Looks like it sold out a little quicker than some of the other recent releases, at least those that I noticed before.

    +1

It's significantly drier, which is a nice palate cleanser. Really great!

Don’t understand the pricing of Bottle Logics hazys. It’s actually very scientific was just released again. It’s a good beer but not 24 for a hazy double ipa. That’s more than Green Cheek, Highland Park, Monkish, North Park, and Modern Times hazy doubles. While I love Bottle Logic I think it’s safe to say their hazys aren’t on the same level as those other brewery’s. I think they might be the highest priced hazy double ipa in SoCal?

I do like IAVS, and the Trillium collab was pretty good too (full disclosure: I got 4 packs of both of these when first released in 2020).

But I otherwise completely agree. They're fine hazy DIPAs but given that Green Cheek/Modern Times are 5 minutes away and depending where in OC you live Monkish/HpB isn't too far a drive, thats a tough pill for me to swallow at 24/4-pack.

Opened a Quarter Up! tonight and I'm a huge fan. Caramel+salt throughout but the chocolate and burn (minimal as it is) take over on the back more. Really well done. Recommend you take it out of the fridge and let it warm up for 20-30 minutes before drinking to get the full experience.

I opened my last Weight Ratios tonight and this probably should have been drank a couple months ago. The coconut flavor is still very much there but I don't get much hazelnut except for a subtle aftertaste. Very smooth though, incredibly easy to drink

Quarter Up is fire. The last “salted caramel” stout I had was I think back in 2018 (or maybe it was 2019?) when BL did a Horus collab non-BA stout on for crowler fills (can’t remember the name). That one was very meh. This one, however, hits all the notes.

Scatter Signal is a 4.8 for me. One of the finest Bottle Logic BA beers I have ever had. Incredible. Only Arborescence comes close IMO.

Two new smoothie beers dropping this week. Instacopping those for sure.

Just opened an Interdiction Field bottle last week and it is just dang delicious. Thick, just the right amount of barrel and sweetness, and the flavor stays so well if I had more self control I could easily enjoy a pour for 30mins or more.

Opened up another Scatter Signal just because and seriously this shit goes so hard.

Also, Out of Office is a delight. Pick some up before it’s gone.

Scatter Signal is a fantastic stout...I was supposed to sit on this second bottle for a while...but, like Chris Rock in New Jack City said, "but that sh*t just be callin' me, man...It be callin' me, man...I just got to go to it" I had to crack it open! Ha!

@bottlelogiclindsay I just cracked one of my bottles of Jam the Radar, was stoked as this is one of my favorites from you folks. Initially thought something was strange because when I uncapped it there was no hiss at all. Poured it into a glass and the beer is completely flat, no carb whatsoever. Tastes of slight oxidation. Maybe a capping issue? Is it possible to swap the bottle out?
