    Happy Prez Day BA's

Rare day off - we just got this day off as a work holiday, so enjoying it - took Emma for her 3rd long hike in 3 days, a bit snowy but still fun - she is a real trooper and loves going out with me!

Have a good Monday. I did 10 hours last night at work since 8 PM. Had to cover for no call no show for the week on second shift. Had the burger fridge sandwiches again. Buffalo Chicken, Jalapeno pepper jack, and angus bacon cheese. The Cheddar Doritos were good, but they just taste like regular Doritos, about 95% of the way there.

@Shanex box has been poorly tended for since pickup. I need to get into the mood to review more, but I am not as driven about doing them, though it is not much of a time problem if I do one per day. Anyhow this one leaked during shipping. Most stubby bottles do bad with the airliner low pressure maybe? I let it warm up and carbonation was still present, and a thin head formed reduced to a thin ring with some streaming bubbles of carbonation. This was fantastic. Aromas and flavors of big red cherries, fruit skin/pits, plum, apricot, red apple, light clove/peppercorn, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; yeast spiciness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation, body, and fairly crisp finishing. Bready grains, light sticky hops and fruit tang/tannin/acidity. Mild increasing warmth of 8%, but pretty refreshing feeling. Big fan! This comes off pretty jammy, but not too sweet. 4.28

I was in an Oriental Metal mood and then I rediscovered Orphaned Land and did 90+ plays of their albums tonight. Progressive metal takes many forms.

A 2017 bottle after a cold and short run. Tuning up for a 7k in Denver next month. It will be my first 'live' event in 14 months. I figured it was time to wade back in and test the waters. A heatwave now after a morning low of -10F. Hopefully it warms up enough to get the mutts out walking today as they have 3 days of pent up energy to burn.:grimacing: Happy Presidents Day if that's still a thing in the US......

It seems that I am in the same unfamiliar boat as my Texan friends this morning as our clinic was closed due to inclement weather. This was my view around 6:30am and it is still snowing.

Windchill is negative degrees F right now, so I’ll stay inside and enjoy this awesome double maple coffee Gazprom from @Orca_Whale

Thanks @thisischuck01 ! This does not change my opinion that Evil Twin makes the best pastry sours in the US right now. Probably 800 calories but I give no fucks.

Haven't had power since 3 AM this morning in Dallas due to "rolling" outages by Oncor to protect the power grid. A brisk 7° outside isn't too bad, but I've never experienced a near power grid failure from bitter cold in the 18 years I lived in Ohio. Can't get a picture through off a now overloaded cell network, but Founders CBS is keeping me warm.

15 degrees when I woke up this morning, now up to 20. Some snow on the ground. This all adds up to no golf today.
We're going to take the dogs to the dog park so they can get some exercise.
Some Bigfoot to start the day.

I'm starting off the day light with a Schoffenhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. It hits on what it's advertising which is grapefruit. There is nothing going on in the smell or taste besides grapefruit. It's a good looking beer and it has a nice light, fizzy feel. It'd make for a good Beach beer.

I've been wanting to try Leffe Blonde for a while and I finally have one. It's got a whole lot of flavor. Yeast, banana, spices, bubblegum, pepper. This did not disappoint at all. I rated it 4.13 which is way over it's BA average of 3.60.
