Bought more Portified BT, that stuff is insanely good! Also more For a Spell, love the thickness and barrel in that one.

    Portified

Third pour tonight. Bottle open ten days. Still super good. Robust balanced flavor. Lots of grape but also a lot of BT. Very sweet, but not quite veering into cloyingness which I thought the second pour was (probably more subjective than actual).

I'll finish the bottle in a few days. I bought a few more and will be happy either enjoying myself over many days, or doing a bottle all at once with friends. I think equally enjoyable either way.

Chew On This was good, but Blue Steel is better. Dare I say it falls just a tiny bit short of Blueberry Pancake BT. I know it doesnt have the maple syrup, But, I get the same feels. Now I'm really looking forward to this release later this year.

This is great! Glad to see a similar result as Still Black Tuesday. Not saying I want all future beer as still, but really think these are two great still beers!

A lot of hype around the Portified BT. I was not disappointed!

Had some of the Pasas Picasso last night. I have to say, it was way better than I was expecting. It really does taste like a rum raisin cake.

Opened my other 2018 PB&J Thursday... I'm not really into PBJ beers but thought my first bottle was enjoyable in 2019. This has dropped off. It's okay, but after some sips the boysenberry has a really artificial cough syrup vibe that's a little gross. It's not bad enough to drainpour... but I'd rather be drinking @ivegot3Dvision 's Pasas for sure:wink:

    Like March soon?

Wasn't in the March preview email this morning.

I was a little surprised not to see any boxed sets previewed for March. Not surprising they've stopped the quarterly Hoarder boxes; was a great concept originally but glad to see they're evolving.

We know of at least three boxes this year: BT Quercus, Donut, BT variant so maybe it's an Apr/Aug/Dec cadence?

Following on the talk a couple pages back about using stoppers, flip-top growlers, saran wrap, etc., to drink bottles over more than one night, I'll mention that I use a Carbonator Cap and love it.

I'll open a high-ABV bottle or can, pour some into a glass, then pour the rest through a funnel into an empty Smart Water bottle. Put the Carbonator Cap on the Smart Water bottle to pressurize it with CO2, purge the oxygen out, put a little more CO2 in, and you can store it for days or weeks without it oxidizing or losing carbonation.

It has helped me get through a lot of pastry stouts that are too rich or high abv (or bottles of lambic that were too special) for me to drink in one night and too expensive to want to dump half of.

And if a beer is flat or lower in carbonation than you prefer, you can use it to add carbonation as well.

You need a CO2 tank and regulator, plus a little tubing and a coupler, but you can get everything you need for $100 or less and it'll last for hundreds of bottles of beer before you'll need to drop $20 to get the CO2 tank refilled.

Looking forward to Melange Noir again, that beer was fucking great. Moon Pie, Falls Further, and PieAreSquare look promising as well.

Extremely hard pass on Baklava Tart (that beer was atrocious in small format) and another attempt at a mint stout. Share This: Mint is still ingrained into my palate memory.

I would think the BT variant would coincide with the October release of Black Tuesday like last year at least? Would guess April/May for Quercus based on the my beer buzz posts. Can't wait to hear more about the Donut box!!

Makes me think: What would everybody's opinion be on branded champagne stopper(s) as Society included merch for 2022?

I just bought one of the U-Latch ones and it has worked great so far: have used on both a waxed bottle and plastic capsuled. Nice satisfying pffft, and no stress about it slipping off like with the wing ones.

So, while I don't need one per se, I think it's a great idea and I would have been thrilled to get one as included merch in the past. For functionality, it would rival the whale shark opener in terms of best merch ever.

I personally have so many damn stoppers already lol. Rarely use the ones we got a few years ago in our included merch...

Sucre bourbon is drinking amazing btw.
