Up next is a local for me. Just a couple of townships over in the Philly burbs is Lansdale. And Lansdale is home to Round Guys Brewing. Way back in the pre-Armageddon times, I used to go to the bar that is attached to their brewery. And by attached, I mean there's a glass wall between the two. You can literally watch them brewing as you drink at the bar. And the people working there were unfailingly friendly & helpful. Great place, but most importantly, they make really good beer. Today I'm having a pint of The Berliner, a Berlinerweiss Ale. It's got a bit of sour taste, with lemon, wheat and a touch of honey sweetness.

Good afternoon BAs! I took yesterday off as a cleanse day...will have plenty of beers this weekend at the bottle share tomorrow...

First beer today is my typical morning coffee - FBS:

Poured at 58°, from top shelf of my office chiller. Bottled 1/4/21. Lots of bitter coffee roast and chocolate at this warmer temp.

I got some garage and patio chores done this morning; rain canceled our shed project today, and temp will drop 10 degrees to a very welcome 63 today...good thing we tarred and rolled out the roof yesterday...it’s as tight as a drum...Cheers and have a fab Friday y’all!

No real surprise, but I was able to find some Port City Colossal X:

With a sidecar of bourbon, just because.

The barley wine is perhaps a little lighter than some, with a moderate haze. The lighter (not strength) malt flavors (light brown and slightly burnt sugars) has this reminding me slightly of DFH 120 Minute. There’s lighter fruit notes of grape, golden raisin, date combine with an earthy hop notes that bring a bitterness attributed to American barley wines. It works to a nice balance, overall.

Founders Underground Mountain Brown bottled 08/27/20. A bit of a murky pour but it's still tasting mighty fine. I'm glad I got my roadwork in before this crazy ass wind started!

Thanks! It’s been difficult since about a year and the several times we’ve seen her since we have taken all precautions we could. It’s a difficult age. Someday you feel great, some other day you feel like you already have a foot in your coffin.

The aromatics from this MBCP are killing it right now; smells absolutely amazing from several feet away.

Glad you are enjoying it, a little light for my taste (perhaps I should have had a side of Bookers with it!). I have been drinking the Sierra Nevada Bigfoot and it is more to my liking. Different strokes for different folks. Cheers!

Urban Village Wrong Way is in my glass now. Apparently this is a brewery that's been in Philly for a while and I never heard of them before today. Well, based on this one beer, they're getting two snaps up with a twist. This is classified as an American IPA here on BA, but I think someone made a mistake and I'm only the fourth person to review it, so maybe that mistake just hasn't been corrected yet. To me, it's much more a NEIPA. There are plenty of pineapple, orange, lemon & grapefruit notes. And just a touch of Hop bitterness. I rated it 4.21, way above it's BA average of 3.87.
