Stoneface Full Clip



From a can marked FRANKEN STEIN 12/28/20

Pours into my tulip glass a fully opaque pineapple shade with a great foaming off white head. Head fades slowly and leaves fluffy clouds of lace stuck to the glass.

Scent is tropical fruit, citrus, grapefruit and pine. Pineapple.

Taste is tropical fruit, grapefruit, orange, lime. Pine resin. A very light biscuity malt note. Pineapple

Mouth starts creamy becomes juicy and ends astringent.

Great IPA. Tons of tropical fruit and citrus backed with a stout bitterness and pine flavors. Sort of like the best parts of both NEIPA and West Coast style IPA.

 

Next up at Sunken Siloh: Jedediah, an American Stout conditioned on birch chips. It drinks more like a Porter but the flavor is unique and I’m enjoying it. I’ll buy some cans of the newly- released Schwarzbier, then it’s off to a nearby diner for an early dinner.

 

Nice looking wing's. what kind of smoker, if you don't mind saying.

 

Bruz Beers Dawg Daze Belgian IPA. It's been a spell since I had a Belgian IPA and this certainly scratches the itch. A lot of flashback music here on the patio.

I just sat down to watch the outdoor game and they called it after the first period. Who would have thought blazing noon sun would melt ice?

 

Finally made it out somewhere, went to Local Group Brewing for lunch. While getting into Louise Erdrich's The Round House. She is one of my favorite writers, this is one of her more appreciated novels that I haven't read for some reason, but like everything she does its great.

And Diamond Hands Hoppy Brown. Review over at NBW thread, and one of my favorite burgers in town.

All good man, I can respect that. I have an idea though. The last time I was there was probably late October. I stopped by to check for some fall seasonal stuff. Didn’t find what I was looking for, but noticed a lot of dusty 6-packs...I hate shit like that. I went to leave, and this guy straight followed me to my truck “was there something you couldn’t find?!?!?”...almost pissy that I walked out without buying something. They do put the effort in for the seasonal items, but rotating / eliminating stock seems lost on them. Not too many people shop there with the attention to detail that you showed...hope it got their attention.
