What beer are you drinking now? #3045

Grilling up some fresh swordfish for dinner tonight. Truth be told my beer is kind of hiding the piece that didn’t mark well.

Agreed! A great beer that I usually find at Trader Joe's in Boulder very fresh and a steal @$9.99/4 pack.

 

Back home in the courtyard, taking in this beautiful day some more.

True Anomaly, a local brewery in Houston that does a number of different styles. A lot are Belgian and they have been getting better all the time. This might be one of the best American versions of a Tripel I have had in a long time. Again, review over at the NBW thread.

I have a great local group that has been bringing me back some tasty treats from around the State. This one is pretty darn good.

 

Home now from our afternoon brewery visit. While there, I had a Munich Dunkel followed by a Czech Pilsner. The wife had a flight and a NEIPA. Nice taproom with solid beer!

 

My dad's fridge is a treasure trove of aging beer. Four and a half months on this Celebration. Drinks quite fine but missing some of that "in your face" bitteness. Cheers!

Everything pairs with Lagavulin

 

Chili came out good - I could have probably used a whole dried Moruga chili, although the 1/2 chili did provide a nice heat. It doesn't hit you right way, it creeps up slowly and lingers. Next time I'll try using a entire one (dried). I did add some pinto beans because I like the fiber they add. Had Stereo Hopic with it since I added a bottle when I was making it.

 

I have that same smoker - I love it. When I smoke wings, I like to throw them in a 400 degree oven to crisp them up a bit. Enjoy, you'll love that beast. Cheers!

Gose is a style I have given myself reasonable opportunity to get my head around and perhaps I’m slowly making progress with these beers. It’s not been automatic though. Cheers.

 

Kettlehead MIDI, an imperial red IPA... don't see those a lot these days. This is sticky, hoppy, slightly-sweet, and quite delicious. Recommended!
