    1) he was a Whig
    2) he was apolitical and pretty much accomplished nothing as a president
    3) defeated the Mexican army and drove them out of Texas
    4) the real reason, he is my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather
    5) i think he would like craft beer if it was available at that time
    6) he would have been ready for BIF13

Well, technically, wasn't local, hand-made, craft beer the only beer available back then? It's not like they busted through the swinging doors hollering for a Bud Lyte.

Reason 4 however, wins the thread!

Great, now we're stuck with Texas and their secessionist fantasies.

Christ! Really?! These BIFs never cease to amaze.

If my sender sends that, they need not include any brews.

For the record, no peninsulas were invaded nor physically harmed during his march into Mexico.

Since we're talking about Presidential history/facts, here's an interesting one:

The 10th President of the United States - John Tyler, who was born in 1790 (served from 1841-1845), has a grandson who is still alive, though he is in his 90's.

Now that is a mind blower.

All right, off to Iowa to get some beer, some of which might make it into my target's box. Some of it's also going to my target in another BIF on another site.

    See you all later today.

Right, had to look those up and it turns out that not only are they on Amazon, but so is my script, and in far better shape. Here I thought I had something special.
Mix mix, if you are a fan of the movie, I recommend getting it as it contains scenes not filmed (King Brian for example, Eric Idle’s adventure)
Plus just knowing what they are actually saying (or are supposed to be saying) helps somehow.
Thanks for alerting me to the existence of those wonderful books!

Thank you for the tags. I really have to think about it. I still have outstanding boxes to send from 12 and 12.5. I still owe redhawkpoke his swag box and some more beers and BBthunderbolt some more beer and, more importantly, some chips. Ive actually got 4 boxes almost ready to go, keeping cool in my cold cellar.

My wife has instituted a stay home order until the vaccine finally rolls out here. She’s helping out her 80 year old mom with some health issues, and wants to limit possible exposure as a result. The vaccine rollout here has been painfully slow.

If I haven’t worn out my welcome with my terrible tardiness, and you have a volunteer for the cross border sending, I’d like to join in, but would like to wait until the last minute to decide.

The good news is, with almost all breweries and bars delivering beer here, and some great trading partners sending me boxes knowing they have to wait for theirs, I’ve amassed a small bottle shop of beer in my cellar. Lots of good lambic, BA stouts and a plethora of Peche Mortel variants that don’t usually leave Quebec ready for boxes. Also, lots of bourbon hitting shelves here next week, that some of you have trouble finding where you are (Blanton’s, Blanton’s Green, OWA, etc...). I should be able to put together a couple of good boxes anyway.

Nope....I had a 3-4 year stretch in the late aughts where I was pretty into triathlons. Ended up doing several half irons, and one full. Since then I've scaled back to just running and cycling, so no more tri's for me.
Nope....I picked it up in Jacksonville a couple days before the Super Bowl. It sits on one of two shelves that are pretty much all Philly sports stuff.
Nope...it sits on the shelf above the one with the Eagles teddy bear.
Surprised it took this long for somebody to guess this (as the rest of the items on the list aren't exactly highly intellectual!), but incorrect. I have 5 books on TR, although I admit I've only read one of them!
