Good morning BA. Time for my Sunday morning chores and a morning treat. Today I am revisiting an old favorite I haven’t had in a few years. Plead The Fifth BBA. This is hitting the spot on a bitter cold morning in Cleveland, OH.

Yards Brewing
Philadelphia Pale Ale
4.6% ABV

this one has become my most drank beer. It comes in every format imaginable around here. Bottles. Cans. Pounders. 12 packs. I can find it anywhere I go.

Deep straw to Gold in color. Chill hazed but returns crystal clear. Off white head. Pillowy. Like a cloud. If you blew on it, chunks would fly like whipped cream does. The head is lush. The lacing it leaves it heavy. It smells like lemon peel and lemon verbena with a touch of evergreen and pine. MAYBE passionfruit. A description of simcoe claims this and I can see why but it’s not a key player in these flavors. Not tropical. I know it’s classic C-hops Centennial, Columbus and Cascade but Simcoe is the main star here with a Simcoe Dry Hopping because I’ve asked the Yards sales rep. It is perfectly balanced out by a combination of cracker and white pretzel dough flavors. At 4.6% it can be crushed. No alcohol levels to be detected. The website says 37 IBU. Light to medium bodied. Moderate carbonation.

I think I can say comfortably that this is my all time favorite beer. There’s is no substitution maybe the closest thing is SNPA. But even by visuals you’ll see a difference. If this beer ever goes away I will shrivel up and die. The stench would be great.

So far, the best of the recent release of BBB variants, but I've still got a couple to try. Cross-post with this week's NBW - rating 3.87, rDev -8.3%.

 

Out of the wind it is actually warm. This seems suiting.

 

Have a good Sunday. Been without internet for about 48 hours. Spectrum tech checking out at 11 am. Of course 2 days of and the love of my life coming over after church. A buddy called me after I got off needing a jump. Apparently his girl left the car interior light on. I didn't drink yesterday. Just Skype with Julia for 2 hours and feel asleep. Nice to have no data caps. 2 nights of food. My work buddy gave me 1.5 packs of king size resses for free. Buff ranch doritos are awesome. So are the sweet chili. I need to try spicy nacho again. Probably hitting another brewery today me and the SO. Unless I fall asleep again lol. Need to watch deadpool 2 once the internet back on. Can't stream from my phone. No smart TV lol. She is moving in next week and I am fucking PUMPED.




Still had a 2019 creepin in the closet. Laundry day yeet.

Wish y’all the best. Living with your lady is a very different experience. You are older than I am I don’t have to mention just remember to be patient with each other. I thoroughly enjoy living with my s/o. But like everything in life there’s challenges but it’s all worth it. We lived separate for the first 3 months of her pregnancy and to say I was miserable about it was an understatement but we got it done.

Huge Nelson on top of an already perfect double pale. The Galaxy one a couple months ago was outstanding but I like this way better! Stellar beer after stellar beer out of trusty Half Acre!

 

Enjoying this lovely Brown ale, the coffee touch is well done.
