4 year vertical of Hopslam. 2018 - 2021
2019 was the stand out, so much honey flavor and still hoppy. By 4 years it was much darker and hazier. Wouldn't say an IPA any longer. A sweet barleywine on the level with Dogfish 120.

 

Work and 4 mile run done, yard mowed.
Weed eating will happen after this Ice cold Two Hearted.

Sunday brunch with Liquid Mechanics Coconut Latte Anarchy Project. A big coffee forward boozy coconut delight. It'll wash down the hash brown/ham waffles nicely.

Navigator in the pool, filter cleaned....Hopsmack.

 

Transient ‘20 Kentuckley (Imperial Stout w/ vanilla, Tugboat coffee, and Michigan maple syrup aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels). A 14.5% beast of a breakfast beer. The coffee, maple, and vanilla are all there, but the vanilla and maple don’t push the beer to the “pastry” level of stout due to the balance the awesome coffee, base, and barrel provide. The barrel accentuates the vanilla, but adds a big dose of bourbon, charred oak, and drying oak tannin and the base beer adds a big roasted malt and dark chocolate component. Transient straight up knows their way around a barrel.


@GreenBayBA In response to your comment yesterday about Mikerphone Lyrical Gangsta. I faintly remember having that one way back when they first brewed it in like 2016 or 2017 and I thought it was just okay. I looked up their most recent social media post on it. Between the “yeast strain made famous by a certain Vermont brewery”, the old school hops, and the 8% abv, it looks like they were trying for a Heady Topper influenced beer. A bold move on their part. I guess even Mikerphone is allowed a miss now and then. Cheers man.

Have to take a break from the bourbon bomb that is The Ocho. Going with my favorite NEIPA from this area. I’d gladly put this up against anything from Tree House. Yes, I said it. Sadly, it’s my last one. Until next time!
