Count me in if that’s cool with you folks?

Feel free to review my feedback, if I’m too new that’s okay. I’m basically doing what this thread is about already anyway. I’ve been adding a local food extra to ppl that are far away from the Midwest before I knew about this thread.

No pressure and up to you guys or gals.

Either way, thanks for having a beer site!

    Cheers,
    Eric

Hey man, thanks for showing your interest!

I'm going to have to ask you sit this one out until we can get to know you; this BIF swings around every few months, so there's plenty of opportunity to join in on the madness.

It sounds like you're fully into the trading aspect, but that's just one area of a BIF - and this BIF, in particular, is unique in that the entire purpose is to promote the New Beer Weekend thread. We only accept participants who are active in the thread - so, check out New Beer Weekend! Let us get to know you, and you'll be right in line for next round. :grinning:

In the meantime, if you're looking to get your BIF feet wet, might I suggest the Newbies BIF. It's a fantastic BIF, with an excellent reputation, and it pairs veteran BIFers (not just traders) with people trying out their first BIF. BIFs are related to trading, but still different, and I can't think of a better launching off point than the Newbies BIF.

Thanks for the interest, Eric, and cheers!

I've been busy doing some shopping for the coming shenanigans. I had a few bottles already in mind depending on my target's tastes and ticks, but the locals keep releasing fun stuff. It's a good problem to have(much to my wife's chagrin).

    Hi,

It’s all good. Maybe another time down the road. Someone referenced me to this thread and said I’d be a good fit. No biggie, I understand.

    Cheers,
    Eric

I second @FBarber s advice...post your reviews in the NBW. You’ll discover new beers and a appreciation for the beers that you are drinking

I first heard of Fort Zachary Taylor when reading Neil Peart's book Roadshow. When touring in Florida in 2004 he took a break to ride his motorcycle down to Key West and check out the Dry Tortugas.

Neither did the teetotaler POTUS previous to him. That's officially a trend.

Amen to that! How can you trust a leader who doesn’t appreciate the pleasures of alcohol??

So while I was drinking my coffee this morning, I took a gander at the overflowing clutter of the beer can shelf in my main fridge. After organizing it, taking stock of what was on hand, and shaking my head at my inability to stop stocking up on lagers and IPAs - not to mention the 'assistance' of friends giving me cans for proxy services or just because they think I'm not drinking enough - I convinced myself that things were at a manageable level, assuming I continued to fully embrace the degenerate life of cracking cans in front of my computer until 1am (spoiler alert - I will). I went about my day, comfortable in this knowledge, even giving a thought to what North Park Beer Co will be releasing this week and deluding myself into the idea that I could buy it without compounding my problem (spoiler alert - I will) because I'll be somewhat caught up by then (spoiler alert - I won't).

Little did I know, @Roy_Hobbs was out here just making the problem worse. My mail carrier had a rather unexpected package for me today, full of delicious, fermented goodness, including some Suarez pilsner cans that I'm thrilled to dive into. @Dimidiata said you all were a great crew, but damn, I wasn't expecting to get a ninja box before the BIF even began. Massive thanks for the kindness and generosity, @Roy_Hobbs - I'm looking forward to drinking these, and to returning the favor at some point. Hopefully, I manage to do it when your fridge is at its breaking point so you can experience the same mixture of emotions I did this afternoon.

Edit: In my excitement, I neglected to include a pic of the goodies!
