Nice looking art on those cans, I haven't seen them around here yet. However, Im not complaining, there is no shortage of great beers in San Antonio.

Also, I saw Alice Cooper in 1986, great show!

My gf bought me the Oskar Blues IPA pack, can't go wrong there. Between that and the new beers from Alamo brewing, I may not get much done today (but will have no regrets).

 

Have a good Saturday. Just got off work ay 7AM once again. Made ate whole meat lovers pizza at work last night and it was awesome. Definitely one of the best gas station pizzas out there, at least around here. Going to try and hang out with one of my best friends from high school this afternoon. Waiting on Julia to wake up for video call. We have been doing 2-3 hour calls consistently for the past month or two. I can't wait to spend my whole life with her. We have so much stuff planned to do once we are financially in the green. Shouldn't take too long once I am an engineer. I randomly realized recently that I am still a Beer Advocate, but just not an obsessed one anymore. Been a nice change of pace and less money spent. The pizza was very filling. I almost couldn't finish it.

Good day BAs! Thanks, @Shanex, for getting us started on another Saturday! At least the EU is cyber-open to us, even if we can't land and meander about aimlessly. God, I'm getting twitchy and MUST travel soon - Thursday's drive to Akron-and-back only whetted my appetite to wander. The first EU site to lift it's ban on international travel will be swamped. But anyway.

Victory's Golden Monkey (GM) has been an example of Murika's take on the Belgian Tripel as long as I can remember - and it wasn't a good take. I had two sort-of-best friends who LOVED this beer. Over the years (pre-2014) I drank multiple cases trying to either a) develop a taste for it, or, failing that, attempting to understand why they enjoyed it so much. I failed to achieve either goal. Then, several months ago, I got entangled in a thread on BA about Golden Monkey in which several BAs whom I respect suggested that I try GM again, since it was reformulated several years ago . Today I did.



Imagine my surprise that I'd never previously reviewed it! It's definitely drier and less syrupy (i.e. better) than I remember. Rating 3.55, rDev -5.3%. If I were looking for a cheap drunk, this would probably be my choice.

 

This beer tastes very delicious after I completed deadlifts in my basement!

 

Work, run, beer shopping done, laundry underway. Drinking last half of this Boss Tweed. Gonna be a hot 86 today, have a great Saturday BA's.

Did some chores and such earlier, then an icy / muddy hike wth Miss Emma at my local metropark.....wow, super slippery! Daylight savings time in 2 weeks and spring equinox in 3! Yea!

Will be driving down to Coshocton (OH) area after lunch to meet my daughter for a few hours at Wooly Pig Farm Brewery - looking forward!

A wee first sample of this - holy shit, so good!

 

Kind of cold so this seems suiting.
