If they could duplicate Coniston Bluebird Bitter, I would love them even more....

 

I've still yet to try that one. Don't seem to come across it anywhere. Anyone know where to find it?

 

This reminded me that CBC is open. I may need some buffalo tenders and a growler for dinner.

It's actually a separate apartment in Beacon Hill.

I've been looking at walk-in closet apartments by the Seaport this winter as well. One can never have too many.

I believe I've seen bottles of it at Ball Square in Somerville. I never really bother to buy it though because I just assume it's old.

I fucking miss Honker's Ale though, wasn't quite as good as the imports, but it was still damn good and always available.

I love how they'll have a mild or bitter both on cask and CO2 driven on tap at the same time so you can do a side by side.

English styles are so rare that I'll sometimes make the trip to CBC just to have a mild or bitter.

 

I drove over from Brighton in May 2019 to drink the bourbon barrel dark mild they had on. Delicious beer. Friend texted me to ask what I was up to and after I told him he responded "Like, by yourself?"

Yeah dude. Get on my level.

 

HAHA, same. I actually think I did the side by side cask vs. tap Bitter by myself too.

I can't speak to where you might find it at this time, but as it was a Shelton Bros. import I would imagine that the last time "fresh" inventory was brought stateside was late 2019, early 2020 at best.

 

Totally unhelpful, but deep ellum used to have it relatively regularly...goddamn I miss bars.

 

And this talk of English ales combined with it being near to the usual NERAX time is downright depressing.

 

The Lithuanian club is covid-proof, right?

Is the Tafelbier anything like Allagash house beer? That's one of my favorite beers.

I wonder what the timeline is currently as we've passed this date...this was from Chris back in October 2020: “We should be complete by year end but are targeting a March 1 opening in 2021.”

I drove by last Saturday or Sunday and the complex on the whole did not look to be in great shape.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sooner rather than later. Need something to look forward to in the spring. As much as I love the Salem biergarten, having Notch be a 15 min. drive or 30 min. bike ride versus a 45 min. plus ride from my old place in Cambridge is going to be huge win. Just looking forward to drinking some half/liters of Notch outside.
