What beer are you drinking now? #3054

Good day BAs! Yet another morning off to a nondescript start - no precipitation, no sun, just kind of "BLAH".

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



A sort-of-dank west coast IPA, a three-brewer collaboration. Rhetorical question: At what point does a collaboration become a committee? Rating 3.73, rDev -1.6%.

 

Rainy March 1st and I will kick start it with this one. Cheers all.

Grateful Dead Hour Preview:

 

Just finished bingeing "Behind Her Eyes" on Netflix. Weird but enjoyable limited series.
The weather has reverted back to winter mode, so I'm warming myself up with a stout.

Canned 01/22/21.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 3/4 inch light tan head over a near black body with some lacing. Nose of roasted malt, roasted coffee, slight chocolate and slighter caramel. Taste mirrors nose somewhat with the chocolate and caramel taking over the middle for a little while and finishing semi-dry with bitter chocolate and espresso. Very good! Nice feel and overall, a solid coffee porter from Richmond, VT.

I'm starting off today with a Ballast Point Grunion Pale Ale. The nose is light, but thankfully, the taste is a lot stronger. It's full of grapefruit & orange rind. Some pine and balancing malts. I rated it 3.93, which is a tick below it's BA average of 4.08. It earns it's rating of "outstanding", though.

Up next is Jefferson's Golden Ale from Yards. It's, um, spotty & inconsistent. I rated the Look at 4.75 and the Smell at 3.25. Overall, my rating of 3.72 was spot on its BA average of 3.79, but it was so inconsistent, that I'm fine with just the one.

 

This savage lil' 5* beer is right in the wheelhouse today. The oats really shine through. Cheers! to everyone and keep on smiling!!

I'm enjoying a Huell Bent, a 4.3% IPL from Round Guys in Lansdale, PA. It's gotnotes of the advertised honeydew and melon. The flavor is a type of sweet that I'm not familiar with. It's pretty damn good, I rated it 3.97, which can't fairly be compared to it's BA average b/c I'm only the 2nd person to rate it.
