    New LIF Announcement

    Greetings BIFers, the previous LIFs have been crazy good and the standard set very high. Which makes me all the more sad this one will not be raising (or even meeting) the bar. I’m not that clever (ask the wife) or that funny (ask the kids), so this by necessity will be very straightforward.

    The theme is…. Hockey. I know the Sharks are represented and I’m almost positive there’s a Penguins fan in here, so this isn’t entirely random. Not-hockey fans, no issue either, this is easy.

    So - this Saturday there’s a slate of 12 NHL match-ups. The goal (see, not funny) of this LIF is to guess the total number of goals scored that day, without going over. Each contestant gets one guess and duplicates are not allowed, so we shouldn’t need a tiebreaker (but if we do…Duck Race!).

    Let’s say midnight Friday deadline for guesses and beermail hits the supply chain on Monday morning.

    I think my parents still have Mastermind in the box at their house. Next time I'm out that way I'll have to take a look and snap a picture of that legendary box.

    I thought MS DOS commands were limited to 8 characters to the left of the "dot" and 3 to the right. Of course, if you were using UNIX (Still a better OS!) then all bets and restrictions are off, but it wasn't called DOS.
    Hmmm, I may have just given away how old I am.

    Erm, Go Red Wings? This is for NHL only, no college? Is college even playing hockey right now? So many things I have no clue on, but random guesswork I can do!
    Let's see, 12 games, 20-21 season is averaging 2.93 per game, so 35.16, or 35.
    I'll guess 35 because I'm a data geek. Besides, somebody already took 42.
