It’s worth a shot right ? What’s the worst that can happen, you don’t like it. I’m looking at not watering down my liquor, you can always let it warm as you sip, but you can’t get rid of the water content via ice. I’ve tried many things many different kind of ways, if you don't try it you’ll never know. If it works great if not, try it another way. If you have perfection enjoy. Interisting to see what you think.

The only time I "left" was when I got banned for a few days because I got into it with a troll on one of the forums.

Oh man. I have come so damn close to banishment many times but never made it.

It's almost as if I need to get banished for a while. Just because.

    What's your problem d-bag?
    Cheers

What the OP said. I'm pretty invested with all my reviews and stats. BA is also a great site to reference when I travel, but it seems that site reviews aren't always contemporary. I'm also still waiting to be able to buy a Poobah Fez

It takes a warning or two to stay away from the great lakes forums..those guys.

I joined BA in College, I should of been working on a Masters in 09.. but oh well. Basically I used my free time to study beer. I stuck around just because the content is good and the people are better.

A lot of the best posters have been purged from the site. Hell my brother joined years before me and he's been banned for over a decade. <---Thats why I joined.

At this point I have watched beer jump the shark and I am just patiently waiting for the scene to splash down to a reality check on a lot of things. I'll be right here telling you I said so hopefully for a few more.

I found BA by the magazine and little beer cards on the shelves of my local bottle shop. Read a few and checked the beers online to see if I would like them. Once I started checking it out on it's own for the news or info that would come up I was rather hooked.

Checking the threads like this one about all kinds of stuff 7+ years ago now was an every day thing at work during slow times. Eventually I got the courage to sign up officially and leave comments/posts. I was rather nervous about those firs few posts, what do I know about beer? Things went well however and here we are.

The analytical side of me of course LOVED/LOVES the tracking aspect of the beers had and have, from where, styles, all that spreadsheet kinda stats and stuff. Over the years my participation and waned but I always support BA by adding beer, updates to places or beers, trying the app most recently. I also believe it to have a much healthier message about beer and it's consumption than the Untapped's of the world.

At this point I really can't remember how I found out about BA. I've been into beer for about 25 years or so now, and when I really started to pay attention to what I was drinking it just led me here! I've never been a big poster, I just tend to lurk more and learn that way although I've tried to post a little more over the years. I do like reviewing beers, but more for my tracking than anything else since I know my reviews aren't great compared to a lot of others here. But I feel like I'm contributing here, at least a little bit by adding new (mostly local) beers and reviewing beers. I figure I'll be here as long as I can and don't plan on leaving anytime soon, since craft beer is one of the few things I've been into for a long time and haven't lost any interest in.

As a fan of beer, I don't know why you would leave this site. I find much more connection, discussion, and education here on BA than Untapped. I tried Untapped and left quickly. Does anyone know reasons why someone would leave BA for Untapped? I don't see the appeal.

From the sounds of it a lot of people didn’t leave by choice.
Another answer would be that untappd is kind of the ADD version of this site. It’s easier to use and post photos. It’s more user friendly for tickers and has a much larger database of current beer and ratings.

I do both, but they're different beasts. UT is beer twatter: silly, nonsensical, goofy fun. BA can be more serious, but we still have plenty of fun. One can learn here, if one wants, I don't there is anything to be learned from UT.

Another reason I stay? The name of the place: I tells us to Be Rad Vocates! We all have to vocate at something, might as well be rad while doing it!

    What? It's just me.......
