No veal here either I’ve ever seen. I used to make veal and peppers a few times a year when I lived in Pa. I’m shocked I can buy logs of Trenton Porkroll here, only down side is it’s 6 lbs.

    Down side!?!

All you need with that is a case of Bud and you have the makings of a party right there! :sunglasses:

    Cheers!

I don’t, but as I understood it Pa old blue laws as it pertained to the sale and distribution of alcohol was more restrictive than say NJ. Pa was slow coming around. In 1980 we went to the beer distributor for beer by the case, you could take out from a bar but the amount was limited. Alcohol sales were restricted on Sundays to places that served a % of food. There’s still dry counties here too, mostly the rural western counties. Used to be no alcohol sales on Sunday at all in SC, here it’s a brunch law, 10 am. Most of of the restrictions here are city ordinances or by county.

Well, the accepted definition of "Blue Laws" wouldn't really cover the PA case law.
New Jersey had mandatory state* Sunday liquor store closings into the early 1980s and up until 1971 or so even bars that were open could not sell packaged goods to go on Sunday, only cardboard or plastic "Containers" of draught beer. (*Municipalities can still place limits on licensed establishments.)

I made sandwiches last week with big slabs of onion, tomatoes , cheese, pork roll, on an onion roll and bbq sauce. It was a two hander of a sandwich.

I envy your absence of cholesterol, blood sugar, and heartburn trouble.

I believe it was a Stone IPA, but I do have 4 Buds in the reefer the only beers I have in the house right now

Ah, I suppose that is an OK beer pairing.

I would think that pairing a pork roll sandwich with Bud would be ideal. As Forrest would say: "like peas and carrots".

At the time I only had Stone, but your right an ice cold AAL is a better match with the onions and bbq sauce.

I am a little late to this thread. About 10-15 years ago Michelob was kind of the craft side of A/B InBev. There were a number of interesting beers brewed under the Michelob moniker including a Red Ale, a Porter, and a Honey Wheat that I particularly remember.

All we get are the 30-packs. I agree with your sentiment. I wish more stores would break them into sixers. They'd make a better margin too on the sales. When I worked for a beer distributor in college years ago stores used to do that but I rarely see it.

Coors Extra Gold is priced like a discount brand here in Minnesota but i find it to be one of the better macro AAL's out there.

Michelob Original Lager is NOT DEAD! I just picked some up at “Beef’s Booze Barn” in Syracuse Indiana while staying at Lake Wawasee. While this beer is not available in all areas it is definitely still around!

I don’t think the picture came through on my last replay but the bottle is stamped with 21084. All of Anheuser Busch’s dates are in code now a days. I think the first two numbers are the year for 2021.
