I don't think I've had beers from either, but have had Iowa beers (lived there for 7 years back in the day)

 

North Dakota was my number 50. I got it when a trader from MN just randomly threw in a Drekker as an extra - I couldn’t believe it!

West Virginia was 49, surprising how hard that one was, considering it’s kinda in the neighborhood.

 

That might be the the toughest state to get in a lot of ways. It's also a state that means a lot to me personally. My ancestor, the man I'm named after, settled there in 1751 - when it was a part of Virginia. He had a younger, up and coming man, survey his land he bought. That young surveyor was George Washington. My ancestor fought in the Revolutionary War, and he was my age when he did, with a lot of kids back home.
WVA is a state I so want to visit. I want to go to, what is now Grafton, to walk the land my blood owned, and see what he saw 200+ years on. See where my blood is buried in person, and not just in pictures.

Maybe next year, when I will get PTO at work, which is a totally new concept to this almost 48 year old man. My main problem is me being able to actually take such time off to drive there. I'll probably blow my PTO on fishing trips.

 

I am missing those states and my father is from South Dakota. Born in Seneca, lived in Aberdeen , Pierre and Hayes.

My great grandfather emigrated from Aberdeenshire Scotland, became the postmaster in wabasha, Minnesota and then homesteader the family in Aberdeen, SD in the 1870’s

I was thinking of going to Aberdeen tomorrow, but, the brewpup isn't open on Sunday. I'll be going to Watertown and Brookings. Got to like having more daylight to do so.

My eldest sister goes to family reunions there every other year...or at least used to...look for Sangster’s in the area

 

When I went to visit my friends in New Bern, NC, 3 years ago, I looked to see how far it was to visit Grafton, NC, and it was about an 8 hour drive. I decided to pass on that. I was SUPPOSED to go to New Bern to visit them last year. Well, we all know what happened then. I still have a credit with Delta, but I highly doubt I'll ever be able to use it within the next year.

When this LIF started, I just figured 5 goals per game was pretty typical, so went with it. About 5 minutes later I explained to a coworker (who follows hockey closely) what I was into, and asked what he thought. He said that there's some atrocious goaltending these days, and he'd guess mid-70s. Let's try this one again, so I can ask him first.

 

I pulled down season stats and crunched the numbers and 69 would've been spot-on for average goals per game, so I figured I'd play it ever so slightly safe with 68. Apparently, everyone decided to overachieve in the offensive zone today.

 

Or, atrocious goaltending and defense.
