How is this not on par with camel advertising to kids via Joe camel? I could see this appealing to the seltzer crowd. It's an abomination from where I'm sitting.
Side note, we used to use Kool aid jammers to chase cheap Vodka in college.

Maybe I'll drink it because my mouth will turn red or purple haha. I'll ask my 5 year cousin if he wants some too hahaha (joking).

Will there ever be beer flavoured Kool Aid?

I'll take some milds and bitters, please.

But... as we were discussing in a previous thread, how long before breweries jump on the bandwagon for this pap because it's the new "in" thing and flood shelves -- pushing out all those beers you want to drink?

Happened to me with my favorite imports, but I have more IPAs to choose from than I (anyone) need.

I think these "beverages" should be stocked with the seltzers, away from the beer.

Much like the Brewer who titled their beer Milk Duds after using the candy, doesn’t this somehow violate copyright restrictions? I have trouble believing Mr. Kool-Aid man believed his magic power would be mixed with beer in a positive way

Well, that would be kinda cool for things to go the other way.

Instead of brewers throwing all kinds of weird shit into their beers how about non-brewers provide more products that taste like beer. Or will some special interest group(s) protest this activity? :flushed:

    Cheers!

I think, I'm not sure, but I think brewers are just fucking with me now.

It's working. It's not funny. Cut it out.

Back in the late 60s or early 70s one of the drink mix brands made a root beer flavored mix -- yeah, no carbonation. Was horrendous. :persevere:

Bill, the scarier aspect (for me) is that some beer consumers are willing to purchase this stuff. Which means less shelf space for 'traditional' beer styles. :slight_frown:

I mean, isn't bad enough that the hard seltzers (with their myriad of flavorings) are already squeezing beer shelf space!?! :grimacing:

    Cheers!

I mean this is obviously ridiculous......but.......is it any more ridiculous than most other “milkshake”/“slushy”/“smoothie”/“lactose”/“fruited” “IPAs”?

This is right in my wheelhouse! Ha! Growing up, I was a Kool-Aid Monster...like I mean literally. I would sneak to the refrigerator at night to get some when I thought everyone was sleep, only to get caught by my light sleeping Mother. LOL! Family stories are legend with me and Kool-Aid! LOL!

Track 7 Brewing in the Sacramento Area has a line of Kool-Aid inspired Sours and Seltzers called, of course, "OH YEAAHH!" Ha!

And, I just recently had this one that was a collab with Track 7 Brewing and Flatland Brewing Company called 'Hell Yeah!!!" that is a Peach Mango Kool-Aid inspired sour (Peach Mango Kool-Aid added) that has Peach and Mango puree added as well...and it was absolutely delicious!

I mean, I guess its possible, and that is a very fair point. But even now with all the IPAs out there, I still find stuff I want to drink.

There’s definitely a limit for me in this category. The style can be done well (Wild Mind smoothies are awesome) but they certainly aren’t going to please the purists out there. But hey, neither will BA stouts with lots of adjuncts. I blame beers like Weldwerks’ Piña Colada DIPA and Fruit Cobbler Gose series, which I thought were incredibly good, for popularizing the heavy additions of fruit purée.

For my palate, the line is drawn at something like Untitled Art’s Pixie Mix, which I imagine the KoolAid beers are similar to. They’re too sweet for my taste, but I appreciate boundaries being pushed and there is obviously a market for them.
